Engineering Manager
DescriptionJob Description: The Engineering Manager leads all engineering personnel and activities from early customer engagement through new product introduction (NPI) and ongoing production support. This role requires a strong technical foundation in injection molding and precision machining, along with a solid understanding of Aerospace, Defense, Medical, and other advanced manufacturing quality standards. The Engineering Manager is accountable for engineering leadership, manufacturing process development, customer-facing technical support, and performance reporting. Success in this role means ensuring customer requirements, quality expectations, and financial objectives are consistently met while driving operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Engineering Leadership Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team (manufacturing, process, project/NPI engineers, and technicians) Set clear expectations, performance goals, and development plans Conduct performance reviews and support career growth and succession planning Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement Customer Technical Engagement Partner with Sales to support new business development with technical expertise Serve as a primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams Participate in design reviews and advise on manufacturability, materials, cost, and process feasibility Resolve technical issues and maintain strong customer relationships Collaborative Design & Manufacturability Review customer designs for manufacturability, quality, functionality, and cost Apply DFM/DFA, value engineering, and APQP tools Coordinate with customers and external design partners to align design intent with manufacturing capability Provide guidance on tooling, materials, and processing methods Quoting & Estimating Prepare hard and budgetary quotes for new products and tooling Ensure pricing accurately reflects true manufacturing costs Collaborate with Operations and Finance to align quoted assumptions with actual performance New Product Introduction (NPI) Lead engineering activities from concept through production launch Partner with Production to establish and optimize manufacturing processes Oversee processing window studies, capability studies, and validation activities Manage First Article Inspections (FAI) and pilot runs Develop work instructions, control plans, and manufacturing documentation Ensure BOM accuracy and alignment with quoted and actual performance Manage project timelines and deliverables using CPM, Gantt charts, or similar tools Process Development & Improvement Develop and validate robust processes for molding, machining, and secondary operations Analyze data to improve capability, yield, and efficiency Lead root cause analysis and corrective action implementation Champion Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives Sustaining Engineering Manage engineering changes including revisions, tooling updates, materials, and process modifications Maintain configuration control and documentation accuracy Update BOM structures to reflect current production and cost requirements Support production teams in resolving ongoing technical challenges Research & Development Evaluate new technologies, materials, and processes to support customer and business growth Assess automation opportunities and new equipment investments Contribute to long‑term manufacturing strategy and technology roadmapsSkillsinjection mold, lean six sigma, solidworks, quality standardsTop Skills Detailsinjection mold,lean six sigma,solidworks,quality standardsExperience LevelExpert LevelJob Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Liberty Lake, WA.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.medical dental vision 401kWorkplace TypeThis is a fully onsite position in Liberty Lake,WA.Application DeadlineThis position is anticipated to close on May 13, 2026.Diversity, Equity & InclusionAt Actalent, Diversity And Inclusion Are a Bridge Towards The Equity And Success Of Our People.
