This role focuses on automation, scalability, and reliability of software delivery processes, with a strong emphasis on Azure cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized deployments. The DevOps Engineer partners closely with Software Engineering, Product, Customer Support, and QA teams to improve release quality, deployment speed, and system reliability. This position is a highly technical, hands-on role focused on engineering excellence, automation, and continuous improvement.\n\nTIME ALLOCATION\nCI/CD pipeline design, release automation, build, packaging, deployment, and DevOps tooling administration (GitHub, artifact repositories, related platforms) – 45%\nTroubleshooting, root cause analysis, deployment support, and operational issue resolution – 20%\nDevOps leadership, standards development, mentoring, and educating development teams on DevOps best practices – 15%\nCross-functional collaboration with Engineering, QA, Product, and other stakeholders – 15%\nContinuous improvement, documentation, tool evaluation, security governance, and future-state cloud/container initiatives – 5%\n\nEXPECTED WORK AND PERFORMANCE (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)\nDesign, implement, optimize and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple applications and platforms\nBuild and support automated build, packaging, deployment, testing, and release processes\nSupport source code management, branching strategies, and release workflows\nImplement and support infrastructure-as-code and automation practices across cloud environments\nManage and maintain binary artifact repositories using tools such as Nexus or Artifactory\nCollaborate with product and engineering teams to improve development velocity, quality, and reliability\nPerform root cause analysis and resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure-related issues\nDevelop scripts and automation solutions using PowerShell and other scripting languages\nMaintain documentation for DevOps processes, tools, standards, and operational procedures\nEvaluate and recommend improvements to DevOps tools and technologies\nEnforce the security and privacy of CI/CD and development processes and platforms\nSupport and participate in dependency protection governance processes (i.e. vulnerabilities and licensing)\nEvaluate platforms and features for data privacy and ownership compliance (especially AI and external-access features)\nAssist in cloud migration initiatives and optimization of Azure architecture (compute, storage, networking, data services)\nBuild and support containerized deployment solutions using Docker and Kubernetes\nMonitor and report on key DevOps metrics including deployment frequency, lead time, MTTR, and change failure rate\n\nQUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical field\n5+ years of experience in DevOps, Software Engineering, Release Engineering, or related technical roles\nExperience supporting cloud-based and on-prem DevOps environments\nDemonstrated experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation solutions\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE\nStrong expertise in cloud architecture and services (IaaS, PaaS, networking, storage, security)\nHands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, or equivalent\nProficiency in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)\nExperience with managing artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory)\nStrong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash, or equivalent)\nExperience utilizing Windows and Linux server environments\nStrong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies\nExperience with build/release engineering, including troubleshooting complex deployment issues\nFamiliarity with Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Jira Service Desk)\nExperience supporting .NET, C#, or Java-based development environments\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment\nExperience supporting multiple applications, platforms, or product teams\n\nPREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE\nExperience supporting cloud migration initiatives\nExperience with Java-based tooling and ecosystems\nExperience with secure DevOps best practices\n\nATTENDANCE/WORK LOCATION\nThe position is based in our Richardson, TX office.
