Kitchen Manager / Chef – Night Owl -Wine, Beer, & Tapas Bar @ Snowy Owl Brewster, MA Evening Schedule: 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM Part-Time | Evening Leadership Role Compensation: Starting at $28 -$ 34 per hour (Depending on experience. Bonus can be applied if meets labor target and cost of goods target goals.) About Night Owl Night Owl is a new wine, beer, and tapas bar created by the team behind Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, one of Cape Cod’s most respected hospitality brands. Night Owl is designed as a relaxed evening gathering space for Brewster locals and visitors, offering curated wines, craft beer, and a focused tapas menu. We are seeking a Kitchen Manager / Chef to lead evening kitchen operations and help shape a small, high-quality menu that pairs beautifully with wine and beer. Position Overview The Kitchen Manager / Chef leads all evening kitchen operations for Night Owl. This role blends hands-on cooking with operational leadership, ensuring smooth service, strong food cost control, and a consistently high-quality guest experience. This position is ideal for a chef who enjoys simple, thoughtful food, creative input, and a manageable service window. Key Responsibilities Menu Execution & Development Execute a focused, high-quality tapas menu designed to pair with wine and beer Develop simple, prep-efficient dishes with strong margins Adjust menu offerings seasonally and based on sales performance Maintain accurate recipe documentation and preparation standards Taste and evaluate dishes with management when necessary Kitchen Operations Lead all kitchen operations during evening service (6–10 PM) Prepare ingredients and organize the kitchen before service begins Ensure the kitchen runs efficiently during the short service window Maintain strong food cost control and minimize waste Manage small inventory and place orders as needed (2–3 deliveries per week) Execute opening and closing procedures while preparing the space for morning café operations Staffing & Team Leadership Schedule and supervise 1–2 kitchen staff members (or operate solo during slower shifts) Cross-train team members for flexibility Provide food menu education to bartenders, servers, and baristas Create simple prep, service, and closing checklists Compliance & Cleanliness Ensure compliance with local health department regulations Maintain ServSafe and sanitation standards Keep the kitchen organized, clean, and service-ready What We're Looking For Previous experience as a chef, kitchen manager, or lead line cook Experience with tapas, charcuterie, or small-plate concepts preferred Strong organizational and cost control mindset Ability to run an efficient, small kitchen during evening service & balance creativity with operational simplicity Passion for simple, high-quality food that pairs with wine and beer ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain) Why Join Night Owl Work with the team behind Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters Help shape a new wine, beer, and tapas concept in Brewster Short, consistent evening schedule (6 PM–10 PM) Opportunity to contribute creatively to a focused menu Be part of building a warm, community-driven hospitality experience Benefits: Dental insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person More detail about Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters - Brewster Coffee House part of Snowy Owl Coffee Roasters, please visit
