Sales Head Africa
OverviewPosition Title: Vice President / Sr. Vice President – Kenya / South AfricaRole OverviewComviva is seeking a highly motivated and experienced sales leader to drive and expand our telecom business across the Africa region. This role will be responsible for leading strategic sales initiatives, building executive-level customer relationships, managing complex telecom transformation deals, and developing high-performing cross-cultural sales and pre-sales teams. The ideal candidate should possess deep telecom industry expertise, strong consultative selling capabilities, and extensive experience managing enterprise sales engagements within telecom operators and digital service providers.Key ResponsibilitiesDrive pipeline generation and revenue growth across telecom operators and strategic accounts in Africa.Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across BSS / OSS; Digital Monetization; Messaging & CPaaS; Fintech / Mobile Financial Services; Digital Transformation solutions.Own the complete sales lifecycle including opportunity identification, solution positioning, commercial negotiations, and deal closure.Deliver Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets and maintain accurate sales forecasting.Build and lead high-performing cross-cultural sales and pre-sales teams.Build and maintain strong relationships with CXOs, business leaders, and key stakeholders within telecom operators.Position Comviva as a trusted digital transformation partner through consultative engagement.Conduct executive presentations, workshops, and value-driven business discussions.Develop regional sales strategies aligned with business objectives.Analyze market conditions, competitor activities, and emerging telecom trends to identify growth opportunities.Strengthen Comviva's market presence and brand visibility across the region.Lead RFI/RFP responses in collaboration with solution, delivery, and product teams.Develop commercial proposals, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.Ensure seamless coordination between sales, delivery, and customer success teams for successful project execution.Build strategic alliances with telecom ecosystem partners, channel partners, and industry stakeholders.Support partner-led opportunities and drive collaborative go-to-market initiatives.Required Skills & ExperienceExperience: 20–25 years in telecom or enterprise software sales.Strong experience selling to telecom operators and digital service providers across African markets.Proven track record in managing large and complex telecom transformation deals.Experience leading sales and pre-sales teams.Domain ExpertiseStrong understanding of Telecom BSS / OSSDigital MonetizationMessaging & CPaaSFintech / Mobile Financial ServicesSaaS and Cloud-based solutionsDigital Transformation programsSales CompetenciesStrong consultative and solution-selling skills.Experience engaging with C-level executives and key decision-makers.Excellent negotiation, commercial structuring, and stakeholder management capabilities.Ability to independently drive strategic sales initiatives and closures.Additional CompetenciesExcellent communication and executive presentation skills.Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and fast-paced environment.Strong leadership, collaboration, and relationship-building skills.Willingness to travel across the region as required.Preferred BackgroundCandidates with experience working with the following will be highly preferred:Telecom operators across AfricaLarge enterprise software organizationsTelecom digital transformation programsSaaS and cloud-native telecom platformsEducationBachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Telecommunications, or a related field.MBA preferred.Why Join ComvivaOpportunity to work with leading telecom operators globally.Exposure to cutting-edge telecom and digital technologies.High-impact strategic sales role with regional ownership.Collaborative global work environment with strong growth opportunities.J-18808-Ljbffr
