This job is full-time permanent.\n\nPosition Overview\nWe are seeking a highly motivated Electrical Reliability Engineer to support efforts that maintain and continuously improve the reliability of the mill-wide Electrical Distribution System. This role will focus on developing sustainable, reliable processes using continuous improvement methodologies and proven reliability principles while collaborating with operations, maintenance, and support teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport Root Cause Problem Elimination (RCPE) efforts for downtime and slowback events.\nAssist in capital planning for the Electrical Distribution system.\nSupport turbine generator repairs, upgrades, and overhauls.\nServe as a technical resource for operators and maintenance personnel.\nTrack and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to electrical reliability, providing monthly reports.\nSupport and maintain the following Electrical Reliability Programs:\nTransformer oil analysis and inspection routes\nPdMA (Motor Circuit Analysis)\nUPS inspections\nCorrosion Control Unit inspections and MCC coupon testing\nIR electrical inspections\nBreaker testing and switchgear cleaning\nMCC inspections and cleaning\nTurbine generator electrical controls\nLoad shed system\nMotor protective relay programming and upgrades\nMedium voltage starter upgrades\nDrive preventive maintenance\nMotor rebuilds and repairs\nRadiation safety program\nProvide support for mill-wide projects and ISO compliance requirements.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.\nStrong commitment to safety and safe work practices.\nProficient computer skills and familiarity with reliability tracking systems.\nCompetencies\nSelf-starter with a strong drive for continuous improvement and quality results.\nAbility to advise, recommend, delegate, and lead/supervise employees.\nStrong communication skills to work effectively across departments.\n\nIf you would like to apply for this position, please apply at\nDomtar is an EEO/AA employer.
