This position is full time and full year.\nResponsibilities: The computer technician provides technology support for the administrative office and surrounding area schools. This position requires working in a team environment providing daily support driven by a helpdesk ticket system. Both onsite and remote support is required.\nOnsite support includes repairs to desktop computer hardware and software systems, and/or to provide technical advice and support to school staff and system users. Daily tasks require familiarity and interaction with the SEEM Microsoft networked environment of Windows, Office/365, Google Workspace and Apple requiring knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, OSx, iOS, ChromeOS and Android. Supports tasks includes monitoring helpdesk tickets, staff and student desktops, laptops, copier/printers, Wifi and mobile devices such as iPads, iPhones and Chromebooks. Support for video/audio projection systems include Viewsonic display boards and SMART presentation devices. The computer technician reports to the Technology Director and may be assigned additional tasks and technology projects on an individual basis.\nPrimary Duties:\nMonitors ticketing system and completes tickets in a timely manner.\nProvides advanced hardware technical assistance and support; troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software, and communications failures and conflicts.\nMaintains user LAN & Wireless networks, email login accounts, password resets, file shares and permissions.\nInstalls and troubleshoots software packages such as operating systems, networking components, office and other applications via both manual and automatic software deployment methods.\nPrioritizes and documents the progress of projects and maintains accurate records of repair and preventative maintenance performed.\nInstalls, integrates, and configures new computer systems and hardware for users.\nPerforms physical inventory and tagging of all computer equipment in assigned schools.\nTransports and unpacks computers, printers, and peripheral devices.\nRemains knowledgeable with industry trends and new technologies.\nProvides telephone, onsite and remote support to end-users via helpdesk ticketing system, voice mail, e-mail and/or in-person communication.\nCoordinates activities with school staff and other IT support members.\nProvides regular updates, status and completion information to the Technology Director and other staff Travels between sites to perform assigned duties.\nPerforms all other duties as assigned by the Technology Director.\nEducation, Work Experience and Specialized Skills/Knowledge:\nGraduate of a technical school, two or four-year college, or equal 1-3 years of on-the-job experience in information technology within a school system or other industry.\nExtensive knowledge of laptop and PC hardware and wired/wireless networking utilizing TCP/IP. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 clients, Office and Google software products, and imaging/cloning applications.\nExperience with a client/server management tool.\nAble to run and crimp category 5e/6 cabling, terminate into RJ45 jacks, and repair RJ45 data drops.\nAble to work independently or as a member of a team.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills; able to work effectively with a wide range of customers of diverse backgrounds and varying technical knowledge.\nPossess excellent organizational skills; able to assess priorities and plan work schedules on a day-to-day basis.\nFamiliarity with Acronis, Aruba, Sonicwall, Mosyle, Deledao, Viewsonic and SMART technology and Mitel 5000 is a plus!\nPhysical Requirements: Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
