About the Role: The Air Force Test Center is looking for a Full-Time Position, Deputy Director for Installation Support (NH-0301-04) to work at the Arnold Engineering Development Center (AEDC), Test Support Division (AEDC/TSD) at Arnold Air Force Base. The organizational goals or objectives of this position are: To provide executive program management and, as the senior civilian in the group, to provide continuity of management direction. THIS JOB CAN CLOSE AT ANY TIME! Location: Tullahoma, TN (Arnold Air Force Base) Typical 2024 salary range: $122,198 – $186,854 per year (includes locality) Telework Information: Up to 20% telework possible (must reside in local area) Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel possible Incentives: This position MAY be eligible for a recruitment/relocation incentive. Specifics will be discussed with the Selecting Official. Direct Hire Authority: NO 6-MONTH WAIT! Recently retired and/or retiring from MILITARY service ARE eligible for immediate appointment for AFTC positions. The 180-day waiting period has been waived for AFTC to hire recently retired and/or retiring service members. Desired Skills: 15 years of first and second level supervisory experience 10 years of experience in contracting and financial management 10 years of experience working with Wing/Group senior leaders Major Duties: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work Plans, organizes, and oversees the day-today support activities provided to the installation. Provides higher level management direction to subordinate organizations, i.e., Civil Engineer, Communications, Information Management, Security Forces, Services, Logistics Readiness, Resource Management, and Medical Aid Station. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with installation command; MAJCOM, and Air Staff Headquarters; AF working groups; other federal, state, and local officials; union representatives; and community groups Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments to include long-term planning, functional/technical advice and guidance, and continuity of management. Qualifications/Requirements: U.S. Citizenship Obtain & maintain Security clearance Master’s degree required (technical or business) and Professional Military Education is desired. Employee must within 30-days of assuming this position and annually thereafter, file an OGE-450, “Confidential Financial Disclosure Report.” Employee is required to attend annual ethics and procurement integrity training. Knowledge of large, complex organizations that provide communications support (computer network, email, telephone, etc.); security; logistics, contracting; Services Operations; building, utilities, road, and grounds maintenance and repair, as well as other functional support to large installations with many buildings, facilities, roads, and acreage. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through subordinate supervisors. Ability to analyze, plan, coordinate, and adjust work operations of multiple organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
