The Field Technician performs field observations and begins conducting routine testing of construction materials under direct supervision. This role is primarily field-based and supports project execution by collecting data, documenting site conditions, and assisting with testing activities. The Field Technician develops foundational technical skills and familiarity with construction practices while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPerforms field observation, testing, and sampling of soil, aggregates, and concrete under supervision\nAssists with construction materials testing activities on project sites\nCommunicates daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers\nReports changing site conditions and additional testing needs to supervisors\nAssists with preparation and submission of daily field reports\nSupports basic calculations and data entry related to testing results\nAssists in organizing and maintaining field equipment\nNotifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment\nParticipates in project meetings with senior staff as requested\nPerforms other field and project support duties as assigned\n\nCareer Development\n\nAs your experience grows, ECS will:\n\nSupport you in enhancing your professional skills.\nEncourage participation in internal and external training programs and certification opportunities provided by organizations such as OSHA 10, ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, NRCA, RCI, various State DOTs, WACEL, and others, as appropriate.\n#WMB123\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\n0 years of related experience\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nObtain basic certifications applicable to the work performed as per the ECS Technician Certification Policy\nIf driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required\nGood communication skills (verbal, written, and reading comprehension)\nDependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented work ethic\nVery limited to no knowledge of CMT principles and testing standards\nBasic math skills and data entry ability\nAbility to read maps, follow directions, and interpret plans (developing)\nBasic proficiency with electronic devices (tablets, phones, laptops)\nAbility to work effectively with supervisors, peers, and clients\nAbility to lift equipment and materials regularly (up to ~85 lbs)\nAbility to safely operate a motor vehicle and follow all local and state laws, road/driving regulations, and company policies\n\nMilitary Qualifications:\n\nThe following US Military ranks will qualify for this position IF they also meet the education and licenses requirements from the above section titled \"Required Qualifications\":\nE-4\n\nThe expected pay range for this role and location is $18/hour.
