instructionStrong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skillsStrong collaboration and critical thinking skillsEssential Functions: Duties/Responsibilities: Provide leadership for the integration of Kansas and district technology standards across the district.Support and facilitate the development of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with an emphasis on instructional technology integration across the district.Review, evaluate, and recommend instructional resources (technology included) in coordination with the Department of Teaching, Learning and Student Services and the Director of Information Technology Operations when applicable.Collaborate with members of the technology department and Director of Assessments and Accountability to provide technical support for electronic programs, new technologies, and other resources.Assist in the development of the district's three-year Technology Plan, ensuring compliance with state requirements (qualifying for the e-rate funding) in collaboration with the Director of Information Technology Operations and Director of Assessments and Accountability.Collaborate with the Director of Assessments and Accountability to create the annual Academic Calendar and Professional Learning Time Calendar.Collaborate with the Department of Teaching, Learning and Student Services team and administration in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the district and building improvement plans.Promote, sustain, and assist with leading district initiatives, including the teaching and learning framework, school improvement plans, intervention services, special education services, and 504 plans.Establish and promote partnerships to strengthen programs and support district and building goals.Understand and analyze district instructional programs to support district and school improvement efforts.Facilitate and support efforts in alignment of the district vision, state standards, and 21st century learning skills.Coordinate efforts to further the Career Technical Education vision in the district.Facilitate and model research-based practices when conducting professional development.Create, maintain, and update learning resources for staff, including guides, tutorials, and other support materials.Initiate, produce, and articulate plans that are in alignment with departmental and district vision and goals.Advise in the selection of instructional resources and materials through processes outlined by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Student Services.Utilize research-based instructional strategies and programs to ensure emerging practices are recognized, studied, and applied as appropriate.Provide research and technical support with instructional strategies to facilitate student learning.Consult with and provide support for Assistant Superintendent of Teaching, Learning, and Student Services with organizing, administering, and overseeing federal funds, programming, budgeting, and reporting.Develop recommendations for the implementation and compliance of local, state, and federal rules, regulations, laws and policies pertaining to students and staff.Serve as a hearing officer in student disciplinary hearings involving suspension or expulsion.Coordinate affective service programs and staff in the district including Student Support Specialists, Counselors, and health care service employees.Assist in the promotion of a work environment which enhances staff and student productivity, limits undesirable job turnover, provides a climate for continual growth, and increases employee's satisfaction with their jobs and working conditions.Obtain equipment, resources and materials through processes outlined by the Assistant Superintendent of Business/Operations.Oversee the transfer process for students within and outside of the district.Mental Demands/Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:Requires the
