This role ensures seamless compatibility between products within various product lines and leads quality improvement or productivity projects for existing products. As a key member of the engineering team, the Design Engineer II fosters strong collaboration across departments, conducts product audits, and disseminates technical product knowledge to internal functions.\nJob Requirements:\nConduct detailed technical analyses of OsecoElfab products and associated tooling to establish fully defined and documented design principles and dimensions.\nEnsure compatibility between products across various product lines.\nLead quality improvement and productivity projects for existing products.\nBuild collaborative relationships with Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and Production teams.\nConduct Product Audits and disseminate technical product knowledge to relevant functions.\nPrepare and present technical training for internal teams.\nIdentify critical product features and dimensions, reducing product development cycle time and eliminating design risk areas.\nCollaborate in Kaizen and 5S projects to drive operational excellence.\nAnalyze customer design proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess feasibility.\nCreate and maintain Engineering Product Documentation, including Design Standards and Tooling Standards.\nIdentify and document future product design opportunities and present them to Segment teams for potential IP opportunities.\nUtilize computer-assisted engineering and design software to perform engineering tasks.\nPlan daily, weekly, and monthly workload, aligning priorities with objectives.\nDevelop engineering analyses of our products for customer provided applications.\nDesign and establish manufacturing specifications for new products and adapted products to fulfil customer needs in their application.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:\nProficiency in drafting technical articles and documentation.\nFamiliarity with modern problem-solving methodologies (Ishikawa, 8D, DFMEA, DOE, etc.).\nStrong verbal and written communication skills for effective interactions.\nAbility to interpret and analyse technical documents, regulations, and standards.\nEffective presentation skills to mid-management and board-level executives.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently.\nStrong collaboration skills with team members.\nProficiency in reading, analysing, and interpreting technical materials.\nAbility to prepare technical training materials and articles.\nProficient problem-solving skills.\nEffective communication with customers and suppliers.\nWillingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.\nEducation and Certification Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree or university program certificate.\n5+ years of applicable experience in an Engineering & Manufacturing environment.\nExperience in Mechanical, Test, Quality, or Product Development.\nMinimum of 3 years of application experience within the industry.\nNot the right fit?
