Currently, we have a Collector opportunity with a nationally recognized healthcare system that combines cutting-edge medical innovation with compassionate, patient-centered care, offering rewarding career growth in a supportive environment.The Collector is responsible for the specific duties listed below.Your specific duties will include:Perform collection activities for assigned accounts and resolve payment difficulties with patients, insurance companies, attorneys, employers, and physicians.Contact patients and insurance company representatives by telephone or through correspondence to check the status of claims, obtain insurance information, and counsel patients on financial arrangements.Maintain collection files on the accounts receivable system and enter detailed records with pertinent information needed for collection follow-up.Process accounts for write-off by conducting thorough research to determine write-off eligibility and present complete documentation to the Billing and Collections Manager for approval.Counsel patients regarding accounts and respond to patient inquiries.Communicate with collection affiliates and provide information to the Credit Bureau in solving payment difficulties.Receive, review, and respond to correspondence related to accounts and take action as required.Required qualifications for the position include:High School diploma or equivalent.3-5 years of collection experience.Knowledge of medical collections.Experience with EPIC HB Resolute and Claims systems.Preferred qualifications for the position include:Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Pay Rate: $20.00 per hourCompensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
