This requires hands on involvement and working on the shop floor. In addition to this support, they will be responsible for design and implementation of tooling and/or process changes to improve manufacturing processes. They will also own larger cost reduction projects from ideation, feasibility and design, Capital Expenditure approval, and implementation. Lead/Support quality improvement initiatives as per IATF 16949-2016 to achieve set sigma level for value stream. Guide production team on issue resolution using knowledge relevant to your department specialties.\n\nPrinciple Duties (includes, but is not limited to):\n\nDesign and implement improvements to production processes and controls.\n\nDevelop improvements to manufacturing methods to improve safety, reduce cost, or increase productivity.\n\nAid operations in ensuring parts are safely fabricated in accordance with product specifications.\n\nAnalyse processes for safety, quality, and efficiency opportunities.\n\nResolve quality issues, identify trends, determine root causes, and take corrective actions.\n\nImprove manufacturing process to reduce process variability and increase yields.\n\nRepresent engineering as part of a cross-functional team including safety, quality, and operations.\n\nPrioritize and execute projects within the agreed upon timeline and provide updates on project status.\n\nTake ownership of projects and execute through design, fabrication, implementation, and sustainment.\n\nParticipate in week-long team-based problem solving / continuous improvement events.\n\nDevelop and manage action plans for long term projects through completion.\n\nResearch and develop high value cost saving opportunities and use data to project savings that justify any necessary capital expenditure.\n\nParticipate in quality improvements as per IATF 16949 2016 ensure to complete toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plan, MSA, Process capability study for in house process\n\nEnsure requirements of relevant standards like ISO 9001-2015, PED 2014/68/EU, API Spec. Q1, API 6D, etc. are being consistently met and improved.\n\nEssential Qualifications / Experience:\n\nB.S. in Engineering or related degree.\n\nProblem solving and root cause analysis skills.\n\nProficient with 2D and 3D CAD software\n\nPreferred Qualifications/Experience\n\nExposure to lean manufacturing, six sigma, and 5S practices.\n\nProficient with data analysis, statistics, and applied mathematics.\n\nDemonstrated ability to understand process & product specifications.\n\nBasic understanding of industrial assembly, fabrication, and machining processes.\n\nWorking experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD\n\nEOE/Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled\n\nThis description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work being performed by employees within this classification.
