RN Resident | Registered Nurse - Emergency & Acute Care

Job Summary Under the supervision of the Nursing Services Manager, the RN Resident delivers nursing care using sound judgment and foundational knowledge of nursing principles. The position involves medication administration, patient assessment, documentation, and collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure continuity and excellence of care. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and under guided supervision. Provide accurate and timely information to physicians and healthcare team members. Document patient care, including medications, vital signs, and care plans within 24 hours of admission. Deliver direct patient care adhering to legal and ethical standards. Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and in-service training to foster teamwork and professional growth. Engage in special projects and continuous learning activities. Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited nursing school. Licenses and Certifications Current, unrestricted nursing license in the state of Washington. American Heart Association BLS certification. ACLS, PALS (or ENPC), and TNCC certifications required within 12 months of hire. Skills and Abilities Knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles across all age groups. Strong communication skills with the ability to document accurately and follow instructions. Proficiency with technology, including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Commitment to patient privacy and safety in compliance with HIPAA standards. Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 35 lbs occasionally, with frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching required. Work Environment This full-time position involves 8-hour shifts in a 40-hour workweek, providing care in a critical access hospital with emergency and trauma services in a rural setting.
