You'll spend much of your time solving challenging SQL and cloud data platform problems, partnering directly with customers, mentoring analysts, and driving technical excellence across the organization.\n\nWhile this role is expected to grow into formal people leadership, your technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and customer partnership skills are what will make you successful from day one.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nServe as the senior technical resource for our Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Support team.\nLead the investigation and resolution of complex customer issues involving data, analytics, and cloud platforms.\nPerform root cause analysis and implement scalable, long-term solutions—not just quick fixes.\nReview SQL and BI object changes while promoting development best practices.\nMentor and coach analysts, helping elevate the technical capabilities of the entire team.\nIdentify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement across support processes.\nLead root cause analysis meetings as necessary to dig into any thematic issues that crop up and how we can mitigate them\nHelp customers maximize the value of Arkatechture's analytics platform through technical guidance and best practices.\nPartner closely with Customer Success to improve customer satisfaction, retention, and platform adoption.\nSupport customer meetings by offering technical expertise, hold office hours, expand upon Knowledge Base articles and Learning Management System training for customers.\nCommunicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nDesign, develop, troubleshoot, and optimize complex SQL solutions.\nTroubleshoot ELT processes, data pipelines, and BI reporting environments.\nMonitor and resolve issues with Tableau and Power BI dashboards and scheduled refreshes.\nCollaborate across Engineering, Customer Success, and Product teams to deliver scalable customer solutions.\n\nSkills, Knowledge and Expertise\n\nWe're looking for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems and helping others do the same.\n6+ years of experience working with SQL in production environments\nDeep expertise with relational databases and cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, SQL Server, Oracle, Redshift, Synapse, BigQuery, or similar)\nStrong experience designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing data warehouses and analytics solutions\nExperience with Tableau and Power BI\nA strong understanding of data modeling, ELTprocesses, and modern analytics architecture\nExceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills\nOutstanding communication skills and the ability to build trusted customer relationships\nExperience mentoring teammates or serving as a technical leader\nExperience with Agile development practices and tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket\n\nExperience with any of the following is a plus:\nProfessional Python experience\nExperience supporting cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS\nFinancial services, banking, or credit union technology\nCustomer-facing consulting or technical support leadership\nModern data engineering and cloud architecture\nData governance or data quality initiatives\nAI or machine learning technologies\n\nWhy You'll Love Working Here\n\nAt Arkatechture, you'll work alongside curious, collaborative people who genuinely enjoy solving hard problems together.\n\nWe offer:\nFlexible remote work with optional access to our Portland, Maine office\nFour-day work week after three years of service\nCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits\nMedical, disability, life insurance, and optional dental and vision coverage\n401(k) with company match\nGenerous paid time off and paid holidays\nProfessional development and certification reimbursement\nOpportunities to influence our technical direction while continuing to grow your own expertise\nWe're proud of the culture we've built.
