Operations Manager
Position Overview
The Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of Baja Amusements, ensuring safe, efficient, and memorable guest experiences. This hands-on leadership role manages attractions, food & beverage, guest services, staffing, and facilities while supporting a high-energy, seasonal team. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, leads from the front, and balances operational discipline with hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Leadership
Oversee day-to-day park operations including go-kart tracks, rides, food & beverage, and guest services
Ensure consistent standards for safety, cleanliness, and guest experience
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and best practices
Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure proper coverage while managing labor costs
Provide on-site leadership during peak hours, special events, and high-traffic periods
Safety & Compliance
Enforce safety protocols to protect guests and team members
Conduct routine inspections of rides, facilities, and equipment
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repairs and preventive maintenance
Maintain compliance with local regulations and industry best practices
Promote and model a strong, park-wide safety culture
Guest Experience
Address guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally
Support marketing initiatives, promotions, and seasonal events
Foster a welcoming, energetic atmosphere aligned with the Baja brand
Team Management
Recruit, train, and support seasonal and supervisory staff
Set clear expectations, provide coaching, and maintain accountability
Build morale and teamwork in a fast-paced, seasonal environment
Financial & Performance Oversight
Assist with budgeting and management of operational expenses
Monitor performance metrics including labor efficiency and operational flow
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and control costs
Schedule & Work Environment
Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays during the operating season
Peak-season hours may be extended and varied
Off-season schedule is more traditional, focused on planning, maintenance coordination, and time off
This is a hands-on, on-site role requiring strong floor presence
Qualifications
2–3+ years of operations or management experience in amusement, FEC, hospitality, or similar environments
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple departments and make decisions under pressure
Guest-focused mindset with attention to safety and team development
High School Diploma/Equivalent
