This role blends process engineering, production leadership, and customer-facing technical support.You will play a critical role in ensuring coatings are applied efficiently, safely, and in compliance with strict industry standards while driving continuous improvement across the department.What You'll Be DoingLead daily operations within the coating applications department, including cost, schedule, and performance managementDevelop, improve, and standardize coating processes (paints, primers, dry film lubricants, chemical conversion coatings)Own process planning and quoting for new and existing workTroubleshoot coating issues and implement corrective actions quickly and effectivelyRead blueprints and develop detailed process instructions and masking techniquesDesign tooling and fixtures to improve throughput and qualityConduct process testing and validation to ensure performance and complianceProvide hands-on training and mentorship to techniciansPartner with customers on technical questions, estimates, and project executionSupport QA/QC efforts and participate in audits, including NADCAPDrive safety initiatives and perform routine safety auditsWhat We're Looking For10-12+ years of coating applications experienceORBachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or similar + 2+ years of experienceStrong experience with:Paints, primers, and dry film lubricantsChemical film / conversion coatingsProcess control and documentationBlueprint reading and masking techniquesExperience in aerospace, defense, or other regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferredExposure to NADCAP or similar quality systems is a big plusProven ability to lead teams, solve problems, and drive process improvementsNice to HaveExperience with process audits and compliance environmentsBackground in continuous improvement or lean manufacturingCustomer-facing technical experience (quoting, project scoping, etc.)Interested in hearing more?
