Potential for occasional offshore travel.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.\n\nUp to 1 year of software development experience, including internships, co-op assignments, academic research, or personal projects.\n\nExperience developing software in C++11 or newer.\n\nExperience with source control systems such as Git or Subversion.\n\nFamiliarity with issue tracking tools such as Jira.\n\nMust be a U.S. Citizen or Legal Permanent Resident.\n\nMust be able to report to the Austin office within 90 minutes on short notice, as required by business needs.\n\nDESIRED\n\nFamiliarity with embedded systems design and/or robotics.\n\nExperience/knowledge programming real-time systems.\n\nExperience with Qt framework.\n\nExperience with network programming.\n\nExperience with AI, Machine learning and Image processing.\n\nExposure to projects using Agile or other formal processes.\n\nProblem Solving skills in identifying and resolving real time problems in a timely manner.\n\nIndustry knowledge of design patterns and software architecture best practices.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics:\n\nAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.\n\nAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.\n\nAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.\n\nAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.\n\nGives and receives constructive feedback.\n\nEnsures that others involved in a project or effort are kept informed about developments and plans.\n\nEffectively influences actions and opinions of others\n\nSupports organization's goals and values\n\nExcellent communication skills\n\nAdapts to changes in the work environment\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.\n\nAlmost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.\n\nOccasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.\n\nWork surface is stable (flat).\n\nPhysical Activity/Requirements\n\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
