This role involves design review, authoring manufacturing plans, and sourcing fabrication from internal and external partners. The engineer will provide support at the aircraft during installation or in the laboratory during setup and will work with an in-house shop team of tooling and aircraft mechanics.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nSynthesize test hardware and instrumentation requirements for machine shop fabrication, laboratory, and flight tests.\nReview design models and drawings.\nCreate and review redlines, coordinating with design teams to incorporate updates.\nAuthor manufacturing plans to facilitate the build process.\nSource fabrication and assembly, including work statement creation.\nCoordinate fabrication and serve as a liaison.\nSource parts from production and procure materials to support testing.\nCoordinate with supplier management.\nProvide shipside support for test hardware and instrumentation installation.\nSupport manufacturing engineering tasks across different company sites as needed.\nCoordinate with test engineers, technicians, instrumentation engineers, program engineers, customers, fabrication technicians, and designers.\nRequired Qualifications\n\nEducation: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or an equivalent non-US qualification is required.\n\nExperience: A minimum of two years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering is required. Candidates must have at least two years of experience with manufacturing planning tools.\n\nTechnical Skills: A minimum of two years of experience with a design tool such as CATIA or Siemens NX is required.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nThree or more years of related work experience.\nA Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.\nThree or more years of experience specific to Manufacturing Engineering.\nExperience with MESci.\nExperience with Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) or equivalent engineering change requests.\nExperience with redline creation and coordination with design teams.\nFamiliarity with flight test worksheets.\nKnowledge of procurement systems.\nKnowledge of electrical fabrication capabilities and processes.\nExperience supporting product testing in a flight or lab environment.\nProficiency in CATIA, ENOVIA, NX, or Teamcenter.\nKnowledge of machine shop fabrication capabilities, including CNC machining and inspection.\nFamiliarity with rapid prototyping processes and tools.\nFamiliarity with stress or structural analysis.\n\nEEO Employer\n\nApex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
