Engineering Technician

HIRING RANGE: $28.76- $32.37 per hour.About The PositionThe City of Grand Junction's Transportation and Engineering Division seeks a creative, team-oriented Engineering Technician to provide support on utility infrastructure projects. Under the supervision of professional engineering staff, this position will primarily be responsible for drafting, designing, and preparing engineering drawings for capital improvement projects. Our core values are demonstrated by our willingness to challenge the status quo, ability to work together using all areas of expertise to achieve a common goal, and commitment to fulfilling the needs of our community through thoughtful interactions.What You'll DoDevelop existing conditions plans and mapping based on land surveying data.Prepare site plans, grading, water, sewer, and transportation layouts using AutoCAD Civil3D software.Conduct site visits, surveys, and research local standards/codes for design of public projects.Prepare final construction drawings, details, and specifications for capital improvement and maintenance projects. Participate in the preparation of quantity estimates and cost estimating for capital improvement projects.Prepare a variety of illustrations, graphics, and exhibits to support land surveying, public meetings, and other departments.
