This role focuses on maintaining the electrical reliability, manufacturability, quality, and performance of Hyper's power distribution equipment throughout the product lifecycle while supporting a rapidly growing manufacturing organization.\n\nWorking closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Support, and Product Engineering, the Sustaining Engineer provides hands-on engineering support for production and field issues, executes engineering changes, and drives continuous improvements that enhance product quality, serviceability, and cost.\n\nThis position is well-suited for an electrical engineer who enjoys solving real-world manufacturing and product challenges, collaborating across functions, and improving products already in production.\n\nCore Responsibilities\n\nProvide hands-on electrical engineering support for released products throughout their lifecycle\nExecute Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for electrical design, wiring, and control system updates\nDrive continuous improvements in product reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost\nUpdate and maintain electrical bills of material (BOMs), schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation\nSupport New Product Introduction (NPI) transitions into production from an electrical design-for-manufacturing perspective\nResolve production issues involving wiring harnesses, control panels, terminations, electrical connectivity, and system integration\nConduct schematic reviews, wiring diagram audits, and electrical fit reviews to prevent recurring assembly issues\nSupport root cause investigations for electrical nonconformances, assembly defects, and field failures\nEvaluate component substitutions, supplier-driven design changes, and material obsolescence\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nPartner with field service teams and customers to diagnose electrical issues involving wiring, controls, grounding, power quality, and system performance\nSupport warranty investigations and electrical reliability improvement initiatives\nEnsure continued compliance with applicable UL standards, customer specifications, and internal quality requirements\nSupport product certifications, audits, and regulatory compliance activities\nApply structured problem-solving methodologies including 8D, A3, 5-Why, and Ishikawa analysis\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives across Engineering and Manufacturing\nRequirements:\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline\n2+ years of electrical engineering experience within a manufacturing environment\nExperience supporting released products through sustaining, product, or manufacturing engineering\nProficiency with electrical design and schematic capture tools such as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, EPLAN, or similar software\nExperience creating electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and engineering documentation\nWorking knowledge of electrical schematics, control panel design, wiring practices, and NEC/NFPA 70 requirements\nUnderstanding of engineering change management (ECRs, ECOs) and document control\nExperience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions\nAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams\nStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience supporting power distribution equipment, electrical enclosures, switchboards, PDUs, RPPs, or switchgear\nFamiliarity with control panel wiring, harness fabrication, and electrical assembly processes\nKnowledge of UL 891, UL 508A, or similar electrical product standards\nExperience supporting products within data center, mission-critical infrastructure, or industrial electrical industries\nExperience with ERP and PLM systems such as NetSuite, Arena, or similar platforms\nLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training or certifications\nFamiliarity with mechanical drawings\n\nWhat Success Looks Like\n\nReleased products remain reliable, manufacturable, and cost-effective throughout their lifecycle\nEngineering changes are implemented accurately and efficiently with minimal disruption to production\nElectrical production and field issues are resolved quickly through effective root cause analysis\nContinuous improvements enhance product quality, manufacturability, serviceability, and customer satisfaction\nStrong collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer Support drives timely issue resolution\nProducts continue to meet UL, customer, and internal quality requirements\n\nWhy Hyper?\n\nAt Hyper, you'll play a key role in supporting the products that power some of the world's most critical data center and digital infrastructure environments.
