Perform routine metallographic preparation and microstructure analysis of stainless steels, and Nickel alloys.\n\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nThe essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:\nPreparation of metallographic specimens in support of production, manufacturing, and field components.\nOperate basic Lab equipment: Polishing machines, hardness testers, cutoff wheels, mounting press etc. review samples via light microscope.\nEvaluate samples and generate reports based on acceptance criteria from provided specifications.\nPerforms housekeeping activities as necessary.\nMaintains awareness of safe working conditions and practice safe work habits in all activities maintaining environmental health and safety standards\nPerforms chemical etching of metallurgical specimens, maintain inventory of chemicals, and Hazardous waste disposal and procedures.\nPerforms general maintenance on lab equipment.\nWork across departments, businesses, internally, and with customers and suppliers\nSupports Manufacturing Engineering, Developmental Engineering\nOther duties, as assigned\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS\nEducation & Training\nHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent\nMust complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix\n\nSkills/Experience\nThis position requires the ability to use various lab test equipment and follow procedures.
