This team is at the intersection of LinkedIn News and LinkedIn Learning, exploring how generative AI can improve editorial workflows, develop innovative member-facing products, and power the future of learning on LinkedIn.\r\nThis role is based in New York or San Francisco.\r\nThe ideal candidate will have experience in journalism, content strategy, or linguistics, along with a strong interest in or experience working in machine learning, coding, and/or data analysis . Experience working with product managers and engineers is a plus.\r\nThe role involves drafting and testing editorial and learning-focused generative AI prompts to power a wide range of initiatives across LinkedIn. It requires creative thinking, collaborative problem-solving, and a keen interest in exploring how to build new tools and solve different editorial challenges using generative AI. Coding experience, particularly with Python, is a plus.\r\nThe Prompt Engineer will be responsible for\r\n\r\nDrafting and testing generative AI prompts to power editorial and learning products at LinkedIn.\r\nEvaluating the quality of outputs of prompts developed by the Editorial AI team and cross-functional partners.\r\nWorkshopping prompt drafts and offering feedback to other members of the Editorial AI team.\r\nDeveloping new ideas and solutions to solve generative AI challenges.\r\nStaying up to date on the latest trends and techniques in prompt engineering and generative AI.\r\nCollaborating with cross-functional partners (engineers, product managers, designers) and other members of the LinkedIn editorial and LinkedIn Learning teams.\r\nManaging multiple projects at once , occasionally on tight deadlines.\r\nTraining other editors and partners in the basics of prompt engineering.\r\n\r\nQualifications\r\n\r\nBasic Qualifications:\r\n3+ years experience in journalism, editorial, content strategy or similar role\r\nWriting and editorial skills with excellent attention to detail\r\nExperience working with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)\r\nPreferred Qualifications:\r\nProficiency in Python (especially for prompt iteration, evaluation or data analysis).\r\nDemonstrated interest in AI/ML and/or natural language processing.\r\nUnderstanding of key prompt engineering/LLM concepts (few-shot prompting, model fine-tuning, etc.).\r\nFamiliarity with SQL, Jupyter and/or Git.\r\nExperience working cross-functionally with technical teams.\r\nOutstanding verbal communication skills and strong analytical capabilities.\r\nComfortable working in ambiguous environments and iterating quickly.\r\nExemplary editorial judgment.\r\nEagerness for experimentation and creative problem solving.\r\nPassion for learning new technologies and tools.\r\nAbility to see other people's points of view and welcome constructive feedback.\r\n\r\nSuggested Skills\r\nThe pay range for this role is $97,000 to $156,000.\r\nMaking job hunting smarter, faster, and way more fun.
