In this role, you will require some specialist knowledge with the ability to continually update and review CPD as well as be able to review others work.\nKey Accountabilities:\nProgramming/software development\nDesigns, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts.\nApplies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result.\nCollaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.\nData modelling and design\nApplies data analysis, design, and modelling techniques to establish, modify or maintain a data structure and its associated components (entity descriptions, relationship descriptions, attribute definitions.\nDatabase design\nDevelops and maintains specialist knowledge of database and data warehouse concepts, design principles, architectures, software and facilities.\nAssesses proposed changes to object/data structures, to evaluate alternative options.\nImplements physical database designs to support transactional data requirements for performance and availability.\nImplements data warehouse designs that support demands for business intelligence and data analytics.\nRelationship management\nImplements stakeholder engagement/communications plan.\nDeals with problems and issues, managing resolutions, corrective actions, lessons learned and the collection and dissemination of relevant information.\nCollects and uses feedback from customers and stakeholders to help measure the effectiveness of stakeholder management.\nHelps develop and enhance customer and stakeholder relationships.\nSoftware design\nUndertakes complete design of moderately complex software applications or components applying agreed standards, patterns and tools.\nAssists as part of a team in the design of components of larger software systems.\nSpecifies user and/or system interfaces.\nCreates multiple design views to address the concerns of the different stakeholders of the design and to handle separately functional and non-functional requirements.\nAssists in the evaluation of options and trade-offs.\nCollaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.\nOther\nCarryout any other reasonable duties as requested.\nSkills:\nWillingness to work in a matrix environment and to value the importance of teamwork.\nExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.\nA flexible attitude concerning work assignments and new learning.\nAbility to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritize workload with attention to detail.\nShows Initiative and self-confidence, is adaptable and can cope with changing and evolving priorities.\nMust have the ability to work methodically in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.\nDemonstrable ability to apply critical thinking to problems and tasks.\nAbility to design tests fully cover the needs of the change effectively and efficiently and can be traced back to requirements.\nAbility to execute tests accurately and capture evidence.\nProactively participates in skills improvement training.\nMaintains an up-to-date awareness of trends, tools, technology, techniques and processes that affect testing and technology within the Life sciences domain.\n\nKnowledge and Experience:\nProven relevant experience in systems integration and implementation, software development, or a related discipline.\nDemonstrated ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders.\nUnderstanding of common system architecture frameworks and concepts.\nTechnical awareness of Security and Application Software Development.\nExperience in the same or very similar role.\nExperience of working in Frameworks.\nA demonstrable strong background in Core Java, J2EE and the SLDC lifecycle.\nBasic knowledge of Struts 2.0, Spring MVC, and Oracle (PLSQL).\nBasic knowledge of KSVN, Merge tools, and IDE tools like IntelliJ, and Eclipse.\nExperience working in and knowledge of the life sciences sector.\n\nEducation:\nBachelor's Degree in a technical discipline (Maths, Science, Engineering, Computing, etc.) or a related study, or equivalent project-related experience.\nEnglish: Fluent.\nThis role is remote.
