With more than five million traditional forklifts moving over 5 billion pallets around the world, there is a ton of work to do to make that vision a reality.\n\nVecna Robotics seeks an Assistant Controller to actively manage and execute our accounting functions. The Assistant Controller will directly handle budgeting, payroll, financial reporting, and month-end close processes, producing thorough financial-status reports to enhance operational efficiency and support our growth.\nThe ideal candidate will be a strong communicator and skilled financial analyst with experience in manufacturing and Software/Hardware businesses, developing and maintaining a standard inventory cost system, and recognizing recurring revenue contracts.\nReporting to the VP of Finance, the Assistant Controller is a full time, salaried role based in Waltham, MA. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa currently.\nIn this role, the Assistant Controller will:\nActively manage and execute the accounting function – including reconciliations, month-end reporting, maintaining proper revenue recognition according to ASC 606, and inventory costing.\nImplement and maintain financial controls and guidelines.\nContribute to short- and long-term operational strategies through hands-on execution.\nProvide comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by analyzing and reporting data points.\nEnsure internal safeguards for revenue collections, costs, and organizational budgets are maintained.\nCollaborate with the VP of Finance to establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, and reporting standards on a biweekly, monthly, and annual basis.\nDevelop and enforce internal controls to protect company assets, policies, and workflows.\nProvide forward-looking cash forecasts on a weekly basis to guide real-time decision-making.\nMaintain accurate recording and strict control of inventory flows, and account for and report on variances in purchase price.\nInteract directly with customer and vendor contacts to address financial and operational needs.\nWhat we are looking for:\nBachelor’s degree in accounting, or related field required; master’s degree in accounting or CPA qualification preferred\n5-7 years of hands-on full-cycle professional accounting experience\nExperience with monthly close procedures, monthly and quarterly financial reporting\nStrong understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis\nDemonstrated hands-on experience with routine accounting processes such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management. Hands-on experience with accounting software (i.e. QuickBooks, NetSuite, Stampli, Bill.com, Brex) and managing new system implementations, along with advanced experience with Microsoft Excel\nStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842, experience researching technical GAAP issues\nExceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills\nAbility to adapt to various business environments, and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization\nAbility to effectively plan and prioritize; demonstrated ability to organize information, pay close attention to detail, and commit to deadlines\nIndustry experience in small-mid-sized companies or start-ups within the technology, SaaS, and manufacturing industries highly preferred\nWe are an equal opportunity employer.
