This is a high-impact leadership role focused on cloud financial management, cost optimization, operational excellence, automation, and cloud engineering best practices.\nYou will partner with Platform Engineering, Finance, Product, Architecture, and Application teams to drive cloud cost transparency, governance, forecasting, reporting, and optimization while ensuring scalable, secure, and resilient AWS infrastructure.\nThis role is ideal for a hands-on cloud engineering leader who enjoys combining deep AWS expertise with FinOps strategy to deliver measurable business value.\nWhat You'll Do\nAWS Cloud Operations & Engineering\nDesign, implement, and support enterprise AWS cloud solutions and operational frameworks.\nManage and optimize AWS services including EC2, EKS, S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELB, Direct Connect, and related services.\nLead infrastructure automation initiatives using Terraform, Ansible, Python, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.\nSupport system administration, patching, upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and capacity management.\nDrive reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency across cloud environments.\nFinOps & Cost Optimization\nBuild and maintain cloud cost reporting, dashboards, forecasting models, and executive summaries.\nAnalyze cloud spending trends, usage patterns, budget variances, and optimization opportunities.\nIdentify and eliminate waste, including:\nIdle resources\nOversized instances\nOrphaned storage\nUnattached IPs\nUnused commitments\nInefficient storage tiers\nImplement and support tagging standards, allocation models, cost accountability, and governance policies.\nPartner with engineering teams to improve cost visibility and financial accountability.\nSupport showback/chargeback models across business units.\nUtilize tools such as:\nAWS Cost Explorer\nCost & Usage Reports (CUR)\nAWS Budgets\nCost Anomaly Detection\nApptio Cloudability (or equivalent)\nLeadership & Transformation\nLead cloud modernization and transformation initiatives.\nMentor engineers and promote engineering excellence across teams.\nCommunicate architectural decisions, trade-offs, and cloud financial insights to both technical and business stakeholders.\nChampion Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and cloud-native best practices.\nProvide strategic recommendations balancing cost, performance, reliability, and scalability.\nRequired Qualifications\nExperience\n10+ years of overall IT experience.\n5+ years of hands-on AWS cloud engineering experience.\n2+ years of FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or cloud financial management experience.\nProven experience leading cloud transformation and modernization initiatives.\nStrong systems engineering, operations, and cloud infrastructure background.\nTechnical Skills\nDeep expertise with AWS services, including:\nEC2\nS3\nEBS/EFS\nIAM\nLambda\nVPC\nCloudWatch\nCloudTrail\nEKS\nNetworking and Direct Connect\nStrong Infrastructure-as-Code experience using:\nTerraform\nAWS CloudFormation\nAnsible\nStrong scripting/programming skills in Python.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.\nKnowledge of Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Nexus, ArgoCD, Jira, Maven, Bamboo, or similar tools.\nStrong reporting and analytics experience using:\nPower BI\nExcel\nSQL\nAWS QuickSight\nFinOps Expertise\nExperience with Apptio Cloudability or similar cloud cost management platforms.\nStrong understanding of:\nCloud cost allocation\nChargeback/showback models\nBudget forecasting\nCost governance\nCost anomaly detection\nResource rightsizing\nSavings
