The Controller, reporting to the Mill Manager, and indirectly reports to the Regional Finance Accountant, is a key part of plant management providing analytical support for all financial decisions.\nPrincipal Responsibilities\nFinancial Reporting\nResponsible for managing site month end close and reporting, all reconciliations and account analysis.\nResponsible for ensuring site inventory counts are being performed and variances explained.\nResponsible for completing weekly/monthly/annual forecasts for the site and corporate FP&A.\nResponsible for completing weekly cost & other ad hoc analysis to assist the site in meeting its cost targets.\nInternal Controls\nResponsible for adhering compliance with current internal controls\nSupport the General Manager in enforcing site and company policies and procedures.\nSupport internal and external testing as required\nProcess Management\nSupport West Fraser centralized or site accounts payable, payroll and fiber procurement and as needed, residuals processes.\nDrive operational and finance process improvement at the mill\nCandidate – Experience and Competencies\nTo be effective in this role, the candidate will possess the following experiences and competencies:\n4-year degree, in Business, Accounting or Finance. CPA designation or working towards one preferred.\nRelated work experience of 3-5 years is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.\nFlexible, detail-oriented, accurate, able to prioritize and meet deadlines. Results oriented\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.
