We offer solutions for consumers, employers, health plans, and anyone else who shares our desire to provide affordable prescriptions to all Americans.\nHow We Work with AI:\nAI tooling is a core part of how we operate, and we expect engineering managers to foster the responsible use of AI across the software development lifecycle.\nYou encourage your team to leverage AI-assisted development to improve productivity, code quality, testing, and operational efficiency while ensuring engineering judgment, security, and maintainability remain central to every solution.\nYou actively identify opportunities to improve engineering workflows through AI-enabled automation and help establish best practices for safe, effective, and responsible adoption across your team.\n\nResponsibilities:\nLeads, hires, develops, and coaches software engineers through performance management, mentorship, and career development.\nDevelops and executes the team's engineering roadmap, balancing business priorities, delivery, platform reliability, technical debt, and operational excellence.\nGuides architectural direction and technical decision-making for shared services, and platform capabilities while empowering engineers to deliver high-quality solutions.\nContinuously improves engineering quality, delivery effectiveness, and developer productivity by establishing engineering standards, development practices, and operational processes that improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability.\nPartners closely with Product, Infrastructure, Security, and other Engineering teams to deliver reliable platform capabilities and shared services.\nCollaborates with engineering leadership and cross-functional partners to define long-term platform strategy, roadmap direction, and technical priorities.\nUses business context and engineering judgment to guide technical decisions involving APIs, integrations, shared services, cloud platforms, and modern application architecture.\n\nSkills and Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nProven experience leading, hiring, retaining, and developing high-performing, geographically distributed software engineering teams.\nDemonstrated experience designing, building, and operating highly available cloud-native applications, distributed systems, APIs, integrations, and platform services using modern technologies such as event-driven architectures, microservices, GraphQL, React, and Next.js.\nExperience with AWS and/or GCP, Kubernetes, Kafka, Redis/ElastiCache, document databases, CI/CD pipelines, API management, observability platforms, and cloud-native application architecture.\nExperience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and fostering responsible adoption of AI-enabled engineering workflows.\nExperience leading engineering teams delivering and evolving high-performance, large-scale distributed systems across modern cloud environments.\nExperience leading Agile engineering teams and continuously improving engineering processes, delivery practices, and team effectiveness.\nDemonstrated ability to prioritize competing initiatives, manage delivery risk, and drive predictable execution across engineering teams.\nOrganizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and engineering teams on track.\nSelf-motivated with ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.\nInterpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience.\nStrong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.\nHealthcare and/or pharmacy experience is a plus.\nEngineering teams are responsible for supporting appropriate security controls, including management, operational, and technical controls in addition to general GoodRx best practices, such as reading and adhering to the security policies and procedures, being vigilant and observant of potential security threats, etc.\nAt GoodRx, pay ranges are determined based on work locations and may vary based on where the successful candidate is hired.
