As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.\n\nWe're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.\n\nWe're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.\n\nIf you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.\n\nAbout This Role\n\nThe Cloud Network team at Crusoe is looking for a Software Engineer I to join our team building and operating cloud network infrastructure. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer to grow their skills in distributed systems and network engineering while contributing to high-performance, scalable, and reliable network solutions. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, learning cloud network primitives and network engineering concepts as you take on increasingly independent ownership of features and projects.\n\nWhat You'll Be Working On\n\nContribute to Engineering Efforts: Work with your team on cloud network features, helping to implement well-scoped pieces of larger projects as defined by product and engineering leads.\n\nSoftware Development: Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code with guidance from senior engineers. Contribute to design documentation for the features you work on. Participate in testing and rollout of software across the stack, from bare metal to user-facing APIs.\n\nTechnical Contribution: Take part in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback), and participate in architecture and design discussions to build your understanding of the broader system.\n\nContinuous Learning: Actively grow your technical skills through mentorship, pairing, and collaboration with teammates. Ask questions, seek feedback, and build foundational knowledge in distributed network systems.\n\nCross-Team Collaboration: Participate in team initiatives like tech talks, open source exploration, and book clubs to broaden your exposure to the engineering organization.\n\nWhat You'll Bring to the Team\n\nFoundational Technical Skills: Some hands-on experience (through internships, school projects, or ~1 year of professional work) with building or operating software systems; exposure to cloud infrastructure or distributed systems is a plus but not required.\n\nSoftware Engineering Fundamentals: Familiarity with core software engineering practices — coding standards, code reviews, source control (e.g., Git), testing, and basic CI/CD or build processes. Eagerness to learn and adopt team best practices.\n\nTechnical Proficiency: Working knowledge of at least one programming language such as Java or Go. Basic understanding of Linux fundamentals and computer architecture concepts (willingness to deepen this knowledge on the job).\n\nCommunication & Collaboration: Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset; comfortable asking questions and working closely with more senior engineers.\n\nGrowth Mindset: Strong desire to learn network systems and distributed computing concepts, with a track record of picking up new technical skills quickly (coursework, personal projects, or prior roles).\n\nBonus Points\n\nCoursework, personal projects, or internship experience involving network technologies or distributed systems.\n\nExposure to networking protocols and technologies such as BGP, VXLAN, TCP/IP, or Open vSwitch (OVS).\n\nAny contributions to open source projects (school-related or personal).\n\nBasic understanding of networking concepts (physical or software-defined).\n\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).\n\nBenefits:\n\nCompetitive compensation and equity packages\n\nRestricted Stock Units\n\nPaid time off, paid holidays & leave of absence programs\n\nComprehensive health, dental & vision insurance\n\nEmployer contributions to HSA account\n\nPaid parental leave\n\nPaid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability\n\nProfessional development & tuition reimbursement\n\nMental health & wellness support\n\nCommuter benefits (parking & transit)\n\nCell phone stipend\n\n401(k) Retirement plan with company match up to 4% of salary\n\nVolunteer time off\n\nGlobal travel insurance & emergency assistance\n\nDaily meals allowance\n\nAdditional perks & programs specific to location\n\nCompensation Range\n\nCompensation will be paid in the range of up to $117,000 - $138,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicant's knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.\n\nCrusoe is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
