Registered Dietitian Part-Time - Area Agency on Aging Nutrition Program
Develop menus and nutrition analysis, nutrition education, provide nutrition counseling and other sanitation and nutrition tools for use in the Senior Nutrition Program. Provide technical assistance for the Area Agency on Aging's nutrition program.Primary office location will be in the Greeley office and Greeley/Weld Meals on Wheels. Reliable, predictable attendance within department business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday as schedule dictates.This position offers the flexibility of part-time work (30 hours per week) combined with the added benefit of our .75 benefits package.The ideal candidate will have the following traits:* Attention to detail.* Strong customer service skills* Time management skills with the ability to stay focused* Strong communication skills at many different levelsMenu Planning Duties - 50%Develop, analyze, and distribute menus for the congregate meal program. Menus must meet the Dietary Guidelines and the Recommended Dietary Allowances (RDA) which is included in the Dietary Reference Intakes (DRI).Develop and provide nutrition education materials and programs to all congregate sites as required by Volume X and current state and local policies and procedures. Provide individual nutrition counseling services to meal participants as needed.Provide technical assistance regarding such issues as: sanitation, food borne illness, and food safety to agency staff and congregate site volunteers and participants as needed.Provide sanitation training to all congregate site volunteers and monitor sanitary procedures at the meal and vendor sites as required.Maintain appropriate client and program information in state required data system and/or any other mandated data systems.Support and Collaboration - 50%Provide information, education, and training for the Aging Network and various community organizations on services and benefits programs available through the Area Agency on Aging. Participate in community information and education activities regarding available senior services, service providers, and the service delivery system.Network with appropriate community agencies and professionals to facilitate special programs for the Senior Nutrition Program.Work directly with the Wellness Coordinator to develop and maintain evidence-based programs.
