This position is for 1st Shift.\n\nEssential Functions:\n\nPerform a variety of duties, some complex in nature, to assemble, mount, and test development and production space propulsion systems, components, and rigs.\n\nUnder direction of supervision or higher grade mechanic, work from procedures, drawings/prints, work instructions and specifications while interfacing with engineering to meet balancing, assembling, mounting, and testing requirements on new or development hardware. Assist in the cleaning, assembly, setup and pressure testing of components, rigs and facilities.\nWhere method of work is specified, follow established procedures/work instructions or work with higher grade mechanic to operate and maintain various support equipment, making simple modifications as required. Including maintenance and repair of test facility valves, vacuum pumps, and high pressure piping systems.\nRegularly work with mechanics hand tools and specialty tools on light to medium weight parts. Occasionally work in an awkward or strained position using manual or mechanically assisted devises.\nWork with methods and operations engineers to assist in devising and developing improved tooling and process changes in both the assembly and test processes. Occasionally participate in investigations by analyzing data, diagnosing problems and recommending solutions.\nAudit records, analyze and compute data and maintain logs to assure compliance to departmental procedures and customer requirements.\nComply with Federal & State Environmental and Safety regulations, as well as conform to Company guidelines and procedures for operation of both test facilities and space propulsion systems in assembly areas.\nPerform other related work of a comparable or lower skill level as required or directed by higher-grade mechanic/supervision in support of department objectives.\n\nIn addition to the typical duties listed above, this position also requires:\n\nProviding assistance in the handling and distribution of liquids, steam, cryogenics and high pressure gases.\nPerforming routine calibrations, maintaining facilities and complying with area Safety and Environmental requirements.\nMaintaining logs and records as required.\nOccasional travel to off-site customer locations to perform service bulletin.\nReferring difficulties or unusual situations to leader/supervisor.\n\nQualifications:\n\nRequires High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum 0-4 years experience. Requires Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License or equivalent industrial experience.\n\nPreferred Additional Skills:\n\nTwo year technical degree, trade school, or equivalent and 3-5 years' experience.\n\nStarting pay is $34.94 per hour, but can vary based upon experience.
