This role will provide technical leadership across client applications, backend services, cloud integrations, device interfaces, enterprise workflows, AI-enabled capabilities, and production-scale software systems.\n\nIn this role, you will help shape an incubation effort within HP’s PC ecosystem experience and human agent interactions — operating with the speed, ambiguity, and creativity of a start-up while leveraging the scale and reach of HP. You will work directly with customers to understand real-world needs, incorporate feedback into product and technical direction, and architect new edge AI-enabled experiences that have the potential to define the next generation of intelligent PCs and peripherals.\n\nThe ideal candidate is a senior technical leader with deep experience designing scalable, secure, maintainable, and enterprise-ready software architectures. This role requires strong system-level thinking, hands-on technical credibility, and the ability to translate ambiguous business, product, and engineering requirements into practical architecture strategies and implementation roadmaps.\n\nYou will partner closely with software engineering, UX, product management, hardware engineering, security, manageability, validation, DevOps, systems engineering, and executive stakeholders to deliver high-quality software platforms that support long-term product evolution, operational reliability, and differentiated customer experiences.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nPartner directly with customers and internal product/design teams to gather feedback, validate early product concepts, and translate customer insights into architecture decisions for edge AI-enabled incubation products.\nDefine and own the end-to-end software architecture for complex software platforms spanning client applications, backend services, cloud-connected workflows, local device interactions, and enterprise integrations.\nEstablish architectural direction, technical principles, design patterns, and platform-level decisions that enable scalability, reliability, maintainability, performance, security, privacy, and extensibility.\nProvide technical leadership for AI-enabled software capabilities, including AI service integration, LLM workflows, model orchestration, inference API integration, evaluation pipelines, responsible AI considerations, and operational guardrails.\nDrive architectural alignment across local applications, cloud services, enterprise identity systems, connected devices, firmware-adjacent interfaces, device management platforms, and backend systems.\nIdentify and resolve complex system-level challenges related to performance, responsiveness, startup time, latency, resource utilization, observability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.\nDefine non-functional requirements for security, privacy, compliance, auditability, manageability, deployment readiness, diagnostics, supportability, and enterprise governance.\nMentor senior engineers and technical leads, helping raise engineering standards in architecture, code quality, design documentation, test strategy, technical reviews, and software lifecycle management.\nCreate and maintain architecture documentation, decision records, system diagrams, integration specifications, technical roadmaps, risk assessments, and platform evolution plans.\nEvaluate emerging technologies, frameworks, cloud services, AI development patterns, and enterprise software platforms to determine practical adoption opportunities.\nInfluence cross-functional stakeholders and leadership by clearly communicating architectural trade-offs, risks, dependencies, technical debt, and recommended investment areas.\n\nEducation and Experience\n\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.\n10+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience designing and delivering complex software platforms, distributed systems, enterprise applications, cloud-connected products, or device-integrated software solutions.\n5+ years of experience in a technical leadership, architecture, principal engineer, staff engineer, or equivalent role.\n\nKnowledge and Skills\n\nDeep experience designing modern software architectures across frontend applications, backend services, local applications, cloud services, APIs, data models, and enterprise integrations.\nStrong technical depth in one or more frontend technologies such as Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS .\nStrong backend and systems development experience with languages such as Rust, Python, C#, Node.js, Go , or similar.\nExperience defining architecture for Windows desktop applications, companion applications, background services, system tray applications, OS-integrated applications, or software that interacts with local system services.\nStrong understanding of API design, service-oriented architecture, distributed systems, event-driven workflows, asynchronous processing, application state management, and integration design.\nExperience with AI service integration, LLM APIs, prompt workflows, model orchestration, embeddings, inference APIs, evaluation pipelines, and responsible AI development practices.\nExperience integrating local software with cloud services, backend systems, enterprise identity providers, device management platforms, and enterprise software ecosystems.\nStrong understanding of software security, privacy, authentication, authorization, compliance, audit logging, data protection, and enterprise governance requirements.\nExperience with Git-based development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing strategies, release engineering, and production support practices.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with Tauri, WebView, WebRTC, COM interfaces, PowerShell automation, native application integration, or cross-platform desktop application frameworks.\nExperience with Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Intune, Azure services, enterprise APIs, identity platforms, SSO, device management, or manageability workflows.\nExperience with enterprise manageability solutions (MS Intune, ADMX/Group Policy, HP WXP or similar MDM/UEM platforms)\nExperience with connected-device software, peripheral integration, local device discovery, firmware-adjacent workflows, or hardware/software co-design.\nExperience building architecture for incubation products, proof-of-concept platforms, beta programs, early-stage software initiatives, or new product
