We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Program Director /Assistant Camp Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of YMCA Camp Ocoee and the Adventure Guide/Princess Program.\nRESPONSIBILITES:\nProvides leadership and vision to the daily activities and programs to ensure a quality camp experience that achieves the outcomes set by the camp board and association. Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development and evaluation.\nRecruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.\nWorks directly with the Executive Director to train employees on camp policies and association requirements.\nSupervises the daily activities of the staff throughout the summer and school year.\nCollaborates with the Executive Director in developing, managing and monitoring the operating budget and meeting budget targets.\nProvides supervision and leadership to the operations and staffing of the Health Center and Food Service operations.\nMaintains records accurately and in compliance with approved guidelines and standards of the association and ACA.\nResponsible for inventory and purchasing of recreational and other camp supplies.\nProvides leadership and vision to the Group/Conference program.\nDevelops, coordinates and assists with implementation of marketing strategies to attract campers, groups and conferences.\nHandles billing and accounts receivable for Groups/Conference and Adventure Program.\nServes on rotating schedule as weekend manager on duty for weekends throughout the year.\nProvides leadership to the YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga Adventure Guide/Princess program.\nCoordinates events, circles, marketing, programs and volunteer training for Adventure Guide/Princess program.\nParticipates in the execution of the annual Community Support campaign.\nAttends branch and association staff meetings and training as required.\nOther duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience\nA minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a resident camp setting strongly preferred\nProfessional oral and written communication skills\nBroad knowledge of camp programming, including climbing, high ropes, water skiing, swimming, boating, cabin life, evening programs, etc.\nDemonstrated ability to work with children, teens, families, and other staff\nMust display conflict resolution skills, sound judgement, initiative and independent thinking\nMust display high degree of professionalism/customer service and exemplify YMCA values\nComputer proficiency including use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint\nAbility to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and overnights\nWillingness to live onsite during summer camp season and weekends as needed\nAbility to pass a background check including valid US Driver’s License\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nPerform the essential functions and responsibilities of the job\nStanding, walking on uneven surfaces (up to 5 miles per day); sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling crouching, crawling, talking, hearing.\nMust be able to lift up to 90 pounds with assistance.
