Job Title: Lead Mechanical VAVE EngineerLocation: Greater Logansport, IN (Relocation assistance provided)Salary: $120/k to $140/K per year plus Bonus and additional Benefits For Example: Relocation assistance)OverviewThe Lead Mechanical VAVE Engineer drives Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives across vehicle platforms. This role focuses on cost optimization, design innovation, and delivering high-quality, manufacturable engineering solutions aligned with business goals.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end VA/VE initiatives from concept to productionDesign and develop vehicle conversions using CAD tools (Inventor)Engineer and integrate vehicle systems (structures, suspensions, mechanisms, closures) Identify cost-saving opportunities while improving performance and qualityBuild and manage a pipeline of design optimization ideasAlign design, procurement, and validation with APQP/stage-gate processesCollaborate with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, etc.)Drive standardization, common design strategies, and low-cost alternativesSupport prototype development and validation activitiesLead design reviews and ensure targets for cost, quality, and timing are metContinuously improve engineering processes and product designsRequired Skills & ExpertiseStrong experience in vehicle system design and integration Expertise in structural design, sheet metal, welding, and manufacturing processesKnowledge of automotive systems (fuel, braking, cooling, exhaust)Proficiency in FEA, DFMEA/PFMEA, DFM/DFA, GD&T, DOE, and tolerance stack-upSolid material selection and cost optimization skillsExperience with CAD tools (Inventor, AutoCAD) and ERP systemsStrong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skillsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering4+ years of automotive mechanical design experienceExperience with vehicle launch or assembly environment (preferred)Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional managementExperience with steel and aluminum component design
