This person is the keeper of the drawings, who sees sketches become drawings that ultimately become construction documents. The AutoCAD Draftsman job description aims to highlight the multi-faceted role of the person creating, altering, and managing construction drawings.\nObtain and assemble data, to complete schematic level architectural designs, and visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.\nConvert rough sketches and specifications created by Owner and Architect.\n\nCreate accurate CAD drawings, based on concepts, sketches, equipment data sheets, verbal Instructions and site visits.\nLayout and plan interior room arrangements for commercial retail buildings using AutoCad software.\nCheck dimensions of fixtures and equipment to be used and prepare equipment schedules and lists of materials.\nPrinting various formats of drawings’ sets for Project Managers\nCreate, edit, and update standard details for use in projects\nManage electronic filing system\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:\nTraining and Experience:\nTwo-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting.\nMinimum 1-year experience in a Cad Operator role.\nKnowledge, Abilities and Skills:\nLowe’s facilities department manages design and construction of retail grocery facilities. The selected Draftsman will become a part of our team as an essential team player, in the designing and management of highly complicated and specialized grocery facilities.\n\nAn aptitude for architectural, construction, and mechanical drafting, as well as a willingness to work hard to design and manage quality facilities will ensure the selected draftsman becomes a key factor in our organization.\nPossess excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills\nAttention to detail, prioritization and ability to work well under pressure\nRequired knowledge AutoCAD, Sketchup and basic computer skills with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.\nQualitative and Other Attributes Required.\nA passion for doing high quality work.\nThe ability to think critically, innovate, and solve challenging technical problems.\nHigh attention to detail.\nEffective time management and logical decision-making ability.\nBeing able to self-start and self-motivate when there is no one available to provide instruction.\nCapacity to handle pressure.\nStrong work ethic, and the ability to handle peak work times.\nWillingness to travel if necessary.\nGood customer relations skills.
