This position involves hands-on component testing, detailed documentation, and communication of findings to internal stakeholders and customers. This role will involve the use of specified work processes, specialized measurement equipment, analysis techniques, and experience to process rejects and return to production. This engineer will support in development of correction actions which could include production equipment improvement mechanical and electrical improvements. This would be a fully onsite role to best support our large-scale manufacturing facility.\n\nMinimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, and Skills):\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering field; prefer EE/EET or ME/MET curriculum.\nPrevious work experience in automotive field desired; work within Japanese company highly desired.\nAdept at problem solving and root cause analysis.\nStrong understanding of measurement technologies such as SEM, FTIR, electrical test equipment, and metrology equipment\nAbility to interpret technical drawings and specifications\nStrong verbal and written communication skills to be used in interdepartmental communications, team-based investigations and occasional customer or vendor communications.\nSkill using various presentation software like MS Powerpoint and Excel and analytical software.\nAvailable to travel overseas for training as early as fall, 2026, and annually as needed. Travel to Japan would likely require 2-4 months stay.\n\nDescription of Duties and Responsibilities / % Time Spent Performing Duties:\n\nWork within analysis team performing analysis of automotive EV products: 60%\nPrepare technical reports, presentations, and quality documentation: 20%\nReview manufacturing processes for improvement as related to analysis results: 10%\nOther duties as assigned: 10%\n\nSkills and Abilities:\n\nExcellent analytical and critical thinking skills\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes.\nAbility to work in cross-functional teams and provide input and value.\nAbility to communicate effectively.\nHigh attention to detail and commitment to accuracy\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously\nProficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook\nAbility to work effectively within multicultural and global business environments\nPromote and support Astemo core values and safety culture\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\n\nWill not supervise\n\nSafety and Environmental Management:\n\nAdhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulation\nLead efforts for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 compliance\n\nWork Environment – Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.\n\nOpen-Office Setting\nFactory Setting with Noise\nAbility to work overtime as needed and at times without notice. Mainly weekdays.\nAbility to work for long periods of time while sitting.\nStanding, walking, and bending for the duration of the workday\nAbility to lift 35lbs from floor to a height of 4ft and to push or pull pallet jack up to 450lbs\nVisual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen\nAbility to use hand tools and view small components through a microscope for extended periods of time.\nThis position would be classified as exempt under applicable wage‑and‑hour laws.
