OverviewResonetics is seeking a hands-on Senior Metrology Technician to take ownership of measurement systems across both New Product Introduction (NPI) and legacy production.This is a working lead role (70–80% hands-on) — you will be programming, running, troubleshooting, and improving measurement systems while also setting direction and standardizing how measurement is done.This role is best suited for a highly skilled CMM programmer / metrology expert who wants real ownership, not just execution.What You’ll OwnDay-to-day performance of all measurement systems (CMM, vision, laser, custom gaging)Inspection strategy for new products (FAI, validation builds, early development support)Measurement performance in production (speed, accuracy, repeatability)Standardization of measurement methods across parts and programsWhy Join Resonetics?Work on high-precision, tight-tolerance componentsBe a go-to technical expert with real ownershipDirect impact on both new product launches and production performanceOpportunity to shape how measurement is done, not just follow itResponsibilitiesProgram, run, and optimize CMM and vision systems (PC-DMIS, Calypso, or similar)Build inspection strategies directly from prints and CAD modelsLead and execute MSA, GR&R, and capability studiesTroubleshoot measurement issues and drive root cause resolutionMaintain calibration systems and ensure traceabilitySupport validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new equipment and processesPartner with engineering on GD&T interpretation and inspection approachReduce inspection cycle time without compromising accuracy Train and mentor technicians; write work instructions and establish standard work Provide design input on measurement fixture design and development. Support audits (ISO 13485, FDA) Required QualificationsAssociate’s degree or equivalent hands-on experience 2-5+ yea rs in metrology, CMM programming, or precision measurementStrong, practical GD&T expertise (ASME Y14.5)Proven ability to program and troubleshoot CMMs independentlyExperience supporting both NPI and production environmentsStrong understanding of MSA, GR&R, and measurement fundamentals Experience with Minitab Measurement Systems Analysis (or equivalent statistical software) Preferred QualificationsExperience in medical device or tight-tolerance manufacturingExperience working directly from CAD models (not just prints)Exposure to multiple platforms (CMM, vision, laser)Experience mentoring or leading other techniciansASQ (CQT/CQE) or GD&T certificationWhat Success Looks LikeNew products are inspection-ready without delaysGR&R and measurement capability are consistently strongInspection methods are standardized and repeatableMeasurement issues are quickly identified and resolvedCycle times improve without sacrificing accuracyCompensationThe compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications.
