At Sylvan Learning Center, we teach students (Pre-K through College) at various levels to increase confidence and independence, providing them with skills that will last a lifetime. We are currently looking for experienced tutors to work at our Glendale learning center, experienced in the following: MATH (up to Algebra 2 or beyond) READING/WRITING (up to 12th grade) TEST PREP (with training). As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are: Teaching and building rapport with students. NO LESSON PLANS! ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Supervise, interact with, and motivate students Reward students for completed assignments Evaluate and document student progress Communicate student needs to the center director Inspire and develop a rapport with students Establish a fun learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED Four year degree or equivalent preferred but not required State or provincial teaching credentials preferred but not required (current or expired) Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers
