You will partner closely with business stakeholders, data architects, and analytics teams to ensure alignment with business logic, KPIs, and enterprise data standards.\n\nPlease note: Although a specific location is displayed in our applicant tracking system, this position is fully remote and may be performed from anywhere within the United States.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nData Engineering & Modeling\n\nDesign, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and curated datasets within the Databricks Lakehouse (Silver and Gold layers).\nDevelop and manage analytics-ready data models and semantic structures in Databricks, aligned to enterprise reporting needs.\nTransform raw data into business-consumable datasets that reflect standardized definitions, KPIs, and metrics.\nApply dimensional modeling and other data modeling techniques within a distributed data environment.\n\nSemantic Layer & Analytics Enablement\n\nOwn the semantic layer within Databricks, ensuring consistent definitions across reporting and analytics use cases.\nEnable downstream consumption by visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) without reliance on embedded semantic modeling.\nPartner with business analysts and reporting teams to optimize datasets for usability, performance, and scalability.\n\nPerformance Optimization & Data Quality\n\nOptimize datasets and data models for performance, including query efficiency and scalability for enterprise reporting workloads.\nEnsure data quality, integrity, and consistency across the full data lifecycle.\nImplement and enforce data governance standards, including data security, masking, access controls and cost controls.\n\nCollaboration & Business Alignment\n\nWork closely with business leaders and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.\nAlign data structures to enterprise data dictionary and KPI definitions.\nCommunicate data model designs and dataset structures clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n\nPlatform & Modernization\n\nSupport the evolution of the enterprise analytics platform within Azure and Databricks.\nContribute to best practices for CI/CD, deployment automation, and data engineering standards.\nAssist in advancing data capabilities, including support for AI/ML use cases where applicable.\n\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field.\n6+ years of experience in data engineering, data modeling, or analytics engineering roles.\nStrong expertise in Databricks Unity Catalog, SQL, and Python for data transformation and pipeline development.\nProven experience designing and implementing data models within modern data platforms (e.g., Lakehouse architecture).\nExperience working with medallion architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold layers).\nUnderstanding of BI tools (e.g., Power BI), with emphasis on dataset consumption rather than semantic layer ownership.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, version control, and deployment processes.\nFamiliarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.\n\nSkills and Competencies\n\nStrong data modeling and analytical thinking skills.\nAbility to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.\nDeep understanding of data transformation, optimization, and performance tuning.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nHigh attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and quality.\nAbility to lead initiatives and influence cross-functional teams.\nAdaptability in a fast-paced, evolving data environment.\n\nWorking Conditions\n\nThis position may require occasional travel.\nFlexible work hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines.\n\nPay Equity\n\n$135,000 - $155,000\n\nPrimoris Services Corporation provides the following compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position.
