Join us as a Mechanical Project Engineer.\n\nLocation Type: The position is onsite in Nashville, TN.\n\nWhat We Offer\n\nCompetitive wages, medical benefits starting your first day, and paid parental leave\n\nOpportunity to work on unique, custom automation projects\n\nA collaborative, engineering-driven environment\n\nCareer growth and skill development opportunities\n\nA role where craftsmanship and quality truly matter\n\nHow You’ll Make an Impact\n\nDevelop conceptual designs and create system level architecture.\n\nEstablish project plans including coordination of technical resources and design directions.\n\nComplete layout of machine through detail of all components.\n\nCollaboratively uses judgement to determine adaptations in methods for nonroutine aspects of assignments.\n\nAssist with the successful management of assigned projects as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction.\n\nManage several on-going projects concurrently.\n\nAssist in developing the Mechanical Engineering department through leadership, experience, encouragement and mentorship.\n\nPossesses above average oral and written communication skills.\n\nInitiate and maintain extensive contact with key engineers, external departments, and customers.\n\nLead teams and influence project direction and progress.\n\nServe as a technical expert in the department and may mentor/train other mechanical engineers.\n\nTravel required up to 20% including overnight and international to customer sites & other JR locations.\n\nNote: This list of responsibilities is not inclusive; however, it is intended to be a guideline for activities.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\n\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study\n\nProfessional Engineer OR other technical Certifications preferred\n\n6+ years of related experience\nExperienced with CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD)\n\nKnowledgeable of automation products, services, and the industry\n\nCapable of creating machine designs with complex assemblies and subassemblies.\n\nAble to quickly recognize and fix common engineering problems based on experience, including review and critique of others' work\n\nCurrent or prior JR Automation experience, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred\n\nPreferred industry experience: Process and/or Medical\n\nCompany Overview\nAt JR Automation, A Hitachi Group Company, we discover potential, reimagine limits, and advance industry.
