This role is responsible for leveraging the company’s MRP/ERP system to plan, create, and manage work orders from initial planning through all stages of production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of CNC machining, welding, and fabrication processes, along with a solid understanding of quality, inventory, and shipping functions.\nThis position plays a critical role in ensuring efficient use of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer requirements while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. The Mechanical Engineer reports directly to the Director of Engineering.\nMechanical Engineer Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain detailed production plans to meet customer demand and delivery schedules.\nUtilize MRP/ERP systems to create and manage work orders, travelers, schedules, and material part numbers for all manufacturing processes.\nRead and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints in both standard and metric measurements.\nPlan, schedule, and coordinate production activities across multiple departments.\nDevelop and maintain detailed production plans to meet customer demand and delivery schedules.\nUtilize MRP/ERP systems to create and manage work orders, travelers, schedules, and material part numbers for all manufacturing processes.\nRead and interpret drawings and blueprints in both standard and metric measurements.\nPlan, schedule, and coordinate production activities across multiple departments.\nCollaborate with engineering staff on technical specifications, manufacturing requirements and test procedures as necessary.\nWork closely with production, engineering, logistics, and sales teams to ensure work instructions are accurate, clear and actionable.\nPartner with department managers and leads to ensure appropriate staffing coverage, monitor lead times and proactively address production constraints.\nCoordinate with supply chain and inventory teams to ensure timely availability of materials.\nEstablish production priorities based on customer delivery requirements and first part qualification (FPQ) needs.\nEnsure compliance with all safety standards, quality requirements and company policies throughout the production process.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering.\nMechanical Engineer Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in engineering preferred with a focus in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering\n5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing engineering or manufacturing environment.\nStrong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including welding, machining, and folding.\nAbility to read and understand blueprints in standard and metric formats.\nDemonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, analyze trends, and make informed decisions related to production scheduling, inventory, and resource allocation.\nProficiency with MRP/ERP systems and analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel\nSolid understanding of manufacturing processes, lead times, and workflow constraints.\nFamiliarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.\nExcellent communication, organizational and cross functional collaboration skills.\nWorking knowledge of warehouse safety regulations.\nProficient computer skills and knowledge of data entry and inventory software programs.\nFluent in both written and spoken English.\nAdvanced Math and Analytical Skills\nAbility to meet physical job requirements, including the ability to lift 50 pounds, work in variable temperature conditions, and stand for extended periods of time.\nDISCLAIMER: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
