Analyze, calculate, and design new or revamped process equipment in refinery, chemical, and other industrial applications.\n\nJob Duties / Responsibilities\n\nLead field and technical evaluations of existing process units\n\nProvide technical direction for refinery and chemical process units and licensed technologies\n\nDirect and perform calculations, develop PFDs and P&IDs, provide design documentation for downstream engineering disciplines, develop equipment specifications, compile scope of work packages for construction\n\nLead Client and Contractor interface, attend meetings, and provide written reports\n\nProvide technical support for field execution, including outage/turnaround projects\n\nAssist in constructability planning, proposal, and estimate development\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nEducation: Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering\n\nExperience: Minimum 10+ years\n\nLicensure: P.E. Preferred\n\nTechnical Skills: Knowledge of P&ID development, heat and material balances, hydraulic and equipment sizing calculations, relief device sizing, API standards, and ASME codes required\n\nStrong technical knowledge of refinery and chemical plant unit operations and/or licensed technologies\n\nManagement: Experience mentoring and leading teams required\n\nOther Skills: Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills\n\nProfessional Development Opportunities\n\nAdvance technical knowledge of refinery and chemical process unit operations and licensed technologies\n\nAdvanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards, involvement in AIChE or similar local/national chapters and code committees (API, ASME etc)\n\nGrowth in leading technical teams as subject matter expert or lead engineer\n\nAdvance skills in multi-discipline technical and managerial environment\n\nIndividual field assignments typically each have their own unique requirements. Prior to deployment on any field assignment, you must be able to meet all client‑specific site requirements. Should you be unable or unwilling to meet assignment‑specific requirements, your continued employment would then be subject to the availability of other assignments whose requirements can be met. These unique requirements may include:\n\nYou must possess physical mobility (on the ground and at heights).\n\nYou may be required to pick up, lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs.\n\nYou may be required to work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding/ladders using the appropriate and required fall protection.\n\nYou must be able to work in all weather conditions (including heat, rain, cold, and wind) while wearing the appropriate PPE. This may include but not be limited to a hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, masks/respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves, and leather, steel-toed work boots.\n\nYou may be required to position yourself to work in confined spaces\n\nYou may be required to adhere to a client’s random drug testing program prior to entering their site.\n\nYou may be required to meet a client’s facial hair safety policy prior to entering their site.\n\nPay Range: $140,000 - $185,000 annually\n\nThe above pay range represents a general guideline; however, Brindley Engineering considers several factors when determining base salary that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to the candidate's depth of experience, skill set, certifications, specific work location, and current market conditions.
