The food server sells and serves food and beverages in an efficient, professional manner according to restaurant standards.\n\nWhat you’ll do:\nServes guests in a professional manner as per training guidelines.\nApplies knowledge of full menu and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours, table numbers, and payment options.\nTake food and drink orders from customers and with a positive attitude.\nAccurately enter orders into POS for transmittal to kitchen staff.\nUses suggestive upselling techniques to offer food specials, menu items, daily desserts, and other types of promotions.\nEnsure tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.\nReceives customer payments, completes guest check transactions, and tenders proper change to customers.\nTurns in all cash and change transactions at the end of each shift.\nCross-serves and/or assists team members on an as-needed basis.\nCompletes all assigned opening/closing side work to prepare dining room, bar, kitchen, and service stations for efficient operation during meal periods.\nRe-stocks items in dining room and bar as needed and alerts kitchen staff and manager of stock shortages.\nCommunicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.\nEmployees must always be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees.\nPerform additional job duties requested by management.\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nA passion for quality and service.\nExtreme proficiency in a high-volume/fast-paced environment\nFlexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.\nStrong English communication skills.\nAble to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.\nAble to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.\nFollow all company policies and procedures including proper timekeeping and emergency and safety procedures.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver orders in a timely manner.\n\nQualifications:\nHigh school or equivalent education required.\nExperience in F&B setting with high volume preferably in upscale hotel/bar/restaurant\nAbility to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses, certificates or permits must be “SERV Safe Certified” by the State of Florida.\nOther Requirements:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nMust be able to work in outdoor elements such as precipitation and wind with minimal ventilation and small/enclosed space.\nAbility to physically and safely handle equipment, mirrors, or other display items as well as grasp, lift, push/pull and carry same from shelves and otherwise transport up to 50 pounds.\nMust be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel/restaurant on a timely basis.\nMust be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.\nMust be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill required tasks.\nRequires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.\nTalking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and co-workers.\nVision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth perception.\nRequires manual and finger dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.\n\nThe above job description is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
