Second Shift Welder
Description:Due to our continued growth, Wright Manufacturing, Inc. (WMI), an award winning producer of commercial grade lawn equipment, is looking for committed people to join our welding team, assisting the department and team in the manufacture and building of one of the safest, most durable and highest quality lawn equipment in the world.We provide paid training for entry-level welders. No experience required.Second Shift- 4:00PM-12:30AM*Additional shift differential for second shift hours*Overtime may be required on a daily or weekly basisAll tools, PPE, and equipment to weld is company supplied.Essential Functions of Welders:Interpret blueprints, drawings, and measurements to plan layoutsWeld small and large components, including sheet metal, by using machinery that emits high heat, melting the metal togetherWeld components in flat and vertical positionsMaintain and repair all machineryAssess welded surfaces, structures, and components to identify errorsFollow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, hearing protection, eye protection, and safety shoesMonitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperatureRequirements:Qualified candidates for our Welder role should be able to demonstrate:Strong attention to detailConsistent work historyAbility to read and interpret blueprints preferredHigh mechanical aptitude preferredCompetence with basic hand toolsCoordinated with proficient motor skills and dexterityAble to work in a fast paced environmentDemonstrate ability to work independently without daily supervisionAbility to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful mannerBasic problem solving skillsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs. when requiredAbility to regularly stand, walk, and reach with hands and armsSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focusAbility to work in an environment that is not climate controlledAbility to work in a moderate to high noise level environmentExcellent attendance recordEducation and Experience:Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniquesSome welding knowledge preferredWMI is committed to cross-training and inter-department personnel movements.
