Camp Assistant Counselor

DescriptionUnder supervision, assists with the running of Archaeology Summer Camps for the Montgomery Parks Park Planning and Stewardship Division Archaeology Program. Assists with the preparation and implementation of summer camp programs, activities, and materials. Supervises camp participants. Assists in the maintenance of confidential camper records and ensures that all camp records are kept according to the Maryland Youth Camp Safety Standards. Exhibits exemplary interpersonal skills with staff, campers, parents, and the public. Ensures the safety of campers at all times and helps address crisis management, discipline and troubleshooting issues related to campers and parents. Under direction, provides leadership to campers and exercises judgement and decision-making in an active environment. Takes direction and guidance from the Senior Archaeologist/Camp Director. Accomplishes other duties and activities as assigned. This is a temporary position that will report between July 1 – August 21, 2026.
