This is an opportunity to be a key contributor at a pivotal time in our company’s growth and at a pivotal point in computing history.\n\nRole Overview\nWe're looking for a dynamic Director, Developer Relations to serve as a bridge between VAST Data's technical teams and our user community. In this role, you'll champion our technologies through workshops, technical content, and evangelism, helping customers and prospects understand how VAST Data and our API-first storage platform can transform their data pipelines and AI initiatives. This position reports directly to the Vice President, Digital COE (The Digital COE includes developer enablement and advocacy both in online communities and in-person).\n\nRequired Skills & Experience\n\nTechnical Evangelism & Community Building\nRepresent VAST Data at industry conferences, meetups, and events as a keynote or featured speaker\nDesign and deliver compelling technical workshops showcasing VAST Data's platform capabilities\nBuild relationships with developer communities, AI practitioners, and data engineers\nBe a part of and nurture our active community of VAST Data customers and partners\n\nContent Creation & Enablement\nDevelop high-quality technical content including tutorials, blog posts, videos, and documentation\nCreate comprehensive workshop materials for both in-person and virtual delivery\nBuild demo applications, reference architectures, and proof-of-concept implementations\nDesign and implement hands-on labs focusing on data platform pipelines and AI workflows for DevOps and MLOps target audiences\n\nTechnical Expertise & Customer Success\nCreate reusable assets demonstrating best practices for data platform implementations\nBuild and showcase integration patterns between VAST Data and popular AI frameworks\nServe as a technical advisor to SEs and customers implementing VAST Data solutions\nCollaborate with product teams to translate customer feedback into product improvements\n\nAI Agent and Workflow Development & Showcasing\nDevelop proof-of-concept AI agents and data pipelines that leverage VAST Data's infrastructure\nCreate educational content explaining how VAST Data enhances AI development workflows\nCollaborate with partners to showcase the advantages of VAST Data in pipelines used by their AI agents\nStay current on emerging AI technologies and frameworks to identify integration opportunities\n\nRequirements:\n\nExperience with modern AI frameworks and data processing technologies\nFamiliarity with distributed computing concepts and technologies\nSoftware development experience in languages and tools used in data engineering (Python, SQL, vector databases, etc.)\nBackground in developer relations, advocacy, or technical evangelism\nExcellent public speaking abilities with proven experience presenting technical content to large audiences\nStrong technical writing skills with a portfolio of blog posts, documentation, or other technical content\nExperience creating and delivering technical workshops or training programs\nAbility to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling narratives for various audiences\n\nNice-to-Have Qualifications\nUnderstanding of modern advanced storage and compute architectures, particularly open-source, and their impact on data pipeline performance\nKnowledge of containerization, orchestration, and cloud-native technologies\nUnderstanding of modern database technologies\nExperience with VAST Data products or similar data platform technologies\nExperience building and deploying data pipelines in production environments\nActive social media presence in relevant technical communities\nPrevious experience working with enterprise customers in the data infrastructure space\nExperience with data visualization tools and techniques\n\nPersonal Attributes\nComfortable speaking in front of large audiences with an engaging presentation style\nSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating across teams\nCreative problem-solver who can develop innovative demos and content\nPassionate about technology education and knowledge sharing\nEmpathetic communicator who can understand and address customer pain points\nAdaptable to changing priorities and emerging technologies\n\nTravel
