This internship is designed for active-duty service members who are within six months of transitioning out of the military and seeking a rewarding career in an end-to-end space transportation company. This position is located north of Cedar Park, in Briggs, TX. Training is provided. If you have a passion for learning, strong attention to detail, and the idea of building rockets excites you - then we encourage you to apply.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nElectrical Systems Maintenance: Learn to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical systems in a variety of aerospace platforms, including wiring, connectors, and electrical components.\nAvionics Installation and Repair: Gain experience in the installation, calibration, and repair of avionics systems, such as communication, navigation, and radar equipment.\nSafety Compliance: Understand and follow all safety protocols and regulations related to electrical and avionics work in the aerospace industry.\nDocumentation: Learn to create accurate and comprehensive documentation for all maintenance and repair activities, adhering to industry standards.\nCollaboration: Work alongside experienced aerospace professionals to understand the intricacies of aircraft electrical and avionics systems.\nHands-on Training: Participate in practical, on-the-job training to build your skills and knowledge in aircraft electrical and avionics maintenance.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nMust have a HS diploma and a minimum of 2 or more years of direct experience demonstrated mechanical aptitude, attention to detail\nShop organization and cleanliness\nUse of personal protective equipment\nSkilled in aircraft electrical and avionics maintenance with a focus on safety and compliance.\nProficient in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities.\nAdaptability in high-pressure environments.\nExperience in avionics system installation, calibration, and repair.\nFamiliarity with avionics test equipment.\nWillingness to learn and stay updated with evolving technologies and industry standards.\nWillingness to continue professional development through training and certifications.\nFIREFLY AEROSPACE DOD SKILLBRIDGE CRITERIA\nMust be a current Active Duty Servicemember\nMust be separating from the Military in 4-12 months\nMust be able to complete a minimum of 8 weeks and up to a maximum of 6 months SkillBridge internship\nMust be able to complete 40 hours per week\nWillingness to learn from others on the job\nWill receive an honorable discharge\nHas taken any service TAPS/TGPS\nHas attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months\nReceived Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS\nThis is a military transitional program that does not provide compensation through Firefly Aerospace. If selected for full-time employment with Firefly Aerospace upon completion of SkillBridge you will be eligible for: base salary rate commensurate with experience.
