Sr. Manager, Commercial Insights Shopper Strategy
Location: Remote within U.S.Department: Global Consumer & Commercial IntelligenceSummary of Role:Oversees Shopper Strategy team; is an expert on shopper behavior for top retailers / channels, including Omni, and creates and delivers commercialized insights and strategies for the Sales OrgRole Responsibilities:Sets the team’s insights plan and priorities, including development and execution of yearly learning plan across top retailers / channels, including Omni, that drives growth for the category and Hershey across CMG, Salty & Protein Responsible for coaching and developing a team of 3, with guidance on methodologies, project management, analysis, and storytelling / presentation skillsIdentifies and oversees foundational research focused on shopper behavior for top retailers to ensure deep expertise and understanding of the shopperCreates and delivers commercialized insights – translates consumer, shopper and retailer trends into clear commercial insights and implications for key deliverables like yearly playbooks, NSM, joint grown initiatives, GCICs, and external engagementsDrives cross functional alignment and wiring between Consumer Insights, Commercial Insights and Commercialization teams; serves as a strategic partner to top retail teamsHigh and sustained interaction across senior internal stakeholders, with regular engagement at both working (Manager, Sr. Manager) and decisions-making levels (Director, Sr. Director, VP)High level of indirect decision making, and high level of commercial impact (influences customer strategies, priorities and consumer/shopper narrative)Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities:Deep understanding of insight methodologies, datasets and capabilities that lead to holistic insights generation (consumer, shopper, analytics, trends)Ability to analyze across data sources and apply strategic business acumen to drive to clear, actionable and breakthrough insights and recommendations that will guide decision making and future growthStrategic framing and communication; proven ability to communicate and influence with compelling insights and clear recommendationsStrong collaborator and ability to build dynamic relationships with internal and external partnersProven track record of hiring, managing and developing a high performing teamMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:Education –Bachelor’s degree in required; advanced degrees preferred but not necessaryExperience – At least 8+ years of progressive experience in Shopper, Consumer and/or Analytical (e.g., Business Intelligence, Category Management) Insights ExperienceAt least 2+ years people management, advanced experience analyzing POS/panel dataThe Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
