The team is responsible for Platform APIs as opposed to single use / single function APIs, so a broad knowledge of how to develop these types of APIs is critical.Team description: The team consists of twenty (20) Software EngineersTeam skill sets: The team consists of a combination of Software Engineers (API and Microservices) and Cloud EngineersTop 5-10 responsibilities for this position:Analysis of legacy applications/APIs and Microservices to determine issues, performance, usage, resiliency, scalability and financial metricsCreating plans for addressing issues found above, including decomposition of work into smaller units (tasks)Build and modify Legacy components, or create new ones using legacy code as a modelPlan for and manage migration to the new code including change management, documentation, run booksExecute on migration plans and retire legacy or old codeIdeal candidate background: Experience in technical team leadership (internal / non-people manager, but leading from within the team); Ideally the candidate will have 3+ years of healthcare experience, but lacking that, a background in working with insurance or other financial sy systems will sufficeRequired skills/attributes:Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience6+ years writing and consuming APIs6+ years cloud enablement/migration/engineering practices5+ years building API Infrastructures in a Platform environment8+ years development experience in a platform environment10+ years Software Engineering with demonstrated modern engineering principles8+ years modernization and enhancement of existing systems8+ years experience in modern API Development languages (Python, Java) and frameworksTop 3 required skills:6+ years writing and consuming APIs5+ years building API Infrastructures in a Platform environment10+ years Software Engineering with demonstrated modern engineering principlesPreferred skills/attributes:An ability to see the bigger picture; willingness and ability to work with more junior members of the team to help them grow into their new roles (new team is forming)Must be willing to follow enterprise standards and practices - this is a highly regulated position and while there is some flexibility to the how, tools and technologies must be used from an approved listInterview process: Interviews will be held via Video in two main rounds. Initial screening will be completed by the hiring manager, 45 minutes. Once this is accomplished, second round will consist of back to back interviews. Interview 1: Technical deep dive and coding exercise (60 minutes).
