Program Manager, Veteran Peer Access Network
Position Overview: The Program Manager serves as the primary liaison to the County and leads the strategic planning, coordination, and oversight of SHARE!’s contract with Veteran Peer Access Network. This role ensures high-quality service delivery, supervises Squad Leaders and Battle Buddies, manages data systems and compliance, and drives outreach initiatives.Key Responsibilities:Act as the primary liaison with County agencies and stakeholders.Lead strategic planning and program development aligned with County goals and veteran needs.Represent the organization in meetings, collaborative networks, and public forums.Ensure alignment of services with VPAN protocols and county directives.Oversee all aspects of peer support programming, including Squad Leaders and Peer Support Specialists.Facilitate weekly team meetings and biweekly individual supervision sessions.Monitor service delivery metrics, documentation, and staff performance.Submit monthly, quarterly and annual program and fiscal reports.Ensure timely and accurate SCG and HMIS data entry in compliance with HIPAA regulations.Support integration of VFPN-trained peers into family engagement and case planning.Strengthen partnerships with veteran-serving agencies, housing providers, and healthcare systems.Oversee monthly community events, peer groups, and family support workshops.Ensure staff adherence to VPAN Crisis ProtocolEnsure all staff are trained in ASIST and CPI for suicide prevention and de-escalation.Ensure all direct-service staff complete required certifications; maintain training logs and prepare for compliance audits.Use consumer and staff feedback to assess and improve service delivery; conduct needs assessments and adjust programming accordingly.Ensure culturally responsive and inclusive practices across all services.Required:Must have Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification or complete CalMHSA exam certification within 180 days of hireMust be a VeteranAt least 2 years of experience in program management, social services, and/or veteran supportAt least 2 years proven leadership experience supervising staff and managing service deliveryProficiency in documentation and record-keeping compliant with HIPAA and contract required data systems like SCG, HMIS, etc.Intermediate knowledge of trauma informed care, cultural competency, implicit bias and microaggressionsFlexibility to work evenings and weekendsReliable transportation and ability to travel in the field; must possess a valid driver’s licensePreferred Experience:Familiarity with veteran services, housing programs, and mental health systemsHigher education or certifications in social work, psychology, or related fieldBilingual any language a plus, especially SpanishDisclaimer: the above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
