Data Cataloger
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and intellectually curious Data Cataloger to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has a background in art history, library science, or data management and will be responsible for reviewing, cleaning, standardizing, and enriching data related to fine art objects, antiques, design, artists, and sales events.Duties/Responsibilities:Catalog, normalize, and enrich records of artworks, antiques, design objects, exhibitions, sales, and artists using internal tools and third-party sources.Ensure metadata consistency and alignment with ARTDAI’s internal data standards and taxonomies.Conduct research to verify object details such as dimensions, medium, provenance, and exhibition history.Work closely with product, research, and engineering teams to flag and help resolve data anomalies.Participate in the development and refinement of cataloging protocols and reference models.Help expand and maintain artist, collections, and institutional authority files.Collaborate on initiatives to improve data quality, including de-duplication and schema updates.Required Skills/Abilities: Bachelor's degree in Art History, Library and Information Science, Museum Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in cataloging, collections management, art market research, or a similar role.Auction house experience a plus.Exceptional attention to detail and a passion for clean, structured data.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and online research tools.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
